Recommendations on cobbler in San Diego

I would also like to hear any recommendations. I just moved back to San Diego after 10 years in NYC and being spoiled for choice with excellent cobblers in the Manhattan.

After last winter, I wanted to convert 2 pairs of boots from the studded Dainite soles to Ridgeway, but I have not been able to find a cobbler here in NY that carries that sole. Was surprised that B.Nelson / VIP did not. Any suggestions in the city or online welcome.

The grain leather does make the boots more casual than smooth leather. IMHO, it sounds like from your intended wear with chinos, the more casual/ rounded last of the Coniston may be more appropriate- although the navy color may limit their versatility a bit. They also pair well with denim...

Anyone have experience with the Ridgeway sole?

Does anyone know a cobbler in NY that can convert a Dainite studded sole to a Ridgeway? Unfortunately, VIP./B.Nelson don't carry Ridgeway. thanks

@mosy Tongue pads will help fill some of that space. Any cobbler should carry them.

The non-lined up eylets is a QC issue. I have a pair of Eagle Creek/River boots 2nds from the Shoe Bank, that have the same offset eyelets. mine were cheap, and I use them as winter boots in bad weather, so not a big deal for me. But if they were 1sts and I paid full price, I would've sent them...

NewStart, beautiful Tetburys. but to my eyes, it looks like the left boot is a much lighter shade of brown than the right. Could just be the lighting...

I think it's pretty bad that's it's so uneven. I wear out my outer heel edge first (underpronate?), so I can't imagine how that would affect my gait.. I'd probably twist my ankle on those! Also, the stitching and that spot look sloppy IMO. I don't know how much you paid, so if it doesn't bother...

Nice. I wish they fit my foot better, because I was pretty impressed with how comfortable the LB sole was to walk on- felt like a sneaker.

@7_rocket - Agree about the ER black welt/sole. Plus, I've seen online reviews that the Eagle River comes much lighter brown than pictured on the AE site, almost looks like a pale tan. I'm hoping to darken it enough with leather lotion and brown polish that it goes with the black welt better...

I just got a pair of Long Branch boots (11.5 D), but unfortunately, the last is too narrow for my foot (I had the same issue with the Dalton and even upsized a half size this time). Has anyone else had this issue and gone to a wider width? I've got a pair of E width Eagle River boots on the way...

Beautiful winter boots. My wallet is thankful that these are not 10.5!

Thanks. Even more jealous now that they have the Ridgeway sole. How have you found them to perform, compared to the typical Dainite studded sole, in bad weather (rain, snow, slush)?

Beautiful. Which style are those? Looks similar to the Coniston w/o captoe. Do they have Dainite studded or Commando soles? That is pretty much what I am looking for in a winter boot, like a combination of my Derwent boots and grain Brecon chukkas (shown with my tan grain Pembroke brogues; all...

This fall, I acquired a pair of C&J "Derwent" boots from France (UK10.5). Dark brown, wonderfully soft leather derby boots with a fairly elongated toe and Dainite soles. I had planned to wear these on rainy or snowy days, but the non-storm welt, and soft, supple (and relatively thin) leather...

I really like the darker ones. Can I ask where you bought them?
