All around tough dress shoes
I recommend Mephisto (Goodyear welted) or Paraboot. Mephisto is more common and readily available. Mephisto/ good leather, rubber sole, sturdy.- amemovox

Nordstrom Rack = marginal quality...
I stopped into a local Rack over the weekend and was surprised to see the decline in men's suits. It looked less like a Nordstroms and more like a TJ Max. The Nordstroms across the street carries a few nice suit lines -- Hickey Freeman, Armani, Canali, etc. Not a single "high-end" suit at the...- amemovox

Who makes tall (extra long) ties?
My local Nordstrom Rack has an excellent selection of extra long ties. Never checked the brands; however, I assume XMI, Talbott as well as Nordstrom brand. Perhaps if you have a Rack nearby, you can call and see if they have them. Good luck- amemovox

What do you wear to a court appearence?
Skip the suit - its pretentious. The Judge really doesn't care what you wear but show respect. A coat and tie is ok. If its a righteous ticket, take your lumps and be humble. Don't attempt to make excuses of any kind as the judge has heard them all before. Not to make you nervous but your...- amemovox

AE Clifton Sole wearing away prematurely?
You may want your cobbler to add a nylon/rubber toe tap. I have these installed on all my new shoes and it significantly reduces the wear you have experienced.- amemovox
