Should shirt cuffs be snug or loose?
I disagree. I do not care for snug (let alone tight) cuffs on a shirt. On my left wrist, I need enough room for my watch. For French cuffs, one ought to have enough room to insert one's hand through the cuff with the cufflink in place.- Andy57

Ideally, formal trousers made from the same cloth as the jacket. If the jacket is an orphan (not made as part of a "suit") you might have a difficult time getting a close enough match. A covered placket is okay and certainly better than a shirt with buttons. Tie and cummerbund should match the lapels of your jacket. Budd, in London, has good cummerbunds and ties. Cotton is not, in my opinion, a good material for a suit or jacket. It doesn't drape, it does not move with you, and it is surprisingly hot.- Andy57
