    I've tried both the Chisel 2 and Simpson in 9. The instep on Simpson is definitely lower and the toe box is narrower as well.

    Hmmm, this is a tricky question to answer. I am mostly a UK8.5, in many lasts I have only worn Chisel 2 in UK9, or modified UK8.5 (slight increments in toe box width and instep). I am a clear 8.5 in both Rain and 341. So if I were to compare the Chisel 2 in 8.5 to the same size Rain and 341...

    Chisel 2 is slightly more generous than the Hawksbill and Soft Square. For those 2 I would generally advise going up a half size. If you have a lowish instep and narrow foot you could probably take the Chisel 2 in your regular size.
