This Asian couple on Instagram seems to get whatever they want from PP (and AP and Journe)

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

Ah ok. So it’s an alloy that is mostly copper. So the raw material is probably cheaper but harder to work with. JLC is using machines for all this stuff though so not sure how much they would really save using brass, I guess on any parts that are hand finished. I’ll look at the video you posted...

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

🤷‍♂️ not a JLC fanboy (don’t even think that exists) but what would the savings be given that Silver is about $1 a gram. Now brass may be easier to work with than silver and I guess that would also be a savings but on a $30-40k watch, you can increase the price $2-3k without any of those buyers...

Since I am sure a lot of you guys have been sitting around wondering who I thought “won” Watches and Wonder, no need to fret, here is my list. JLC Cartier IWC Not every watch from the above was a home run but I think these three did the most interesting and beautiful watches overall. There...

I’m over 40 and the no cyclops is a definite plus for me in terms of looks. I much prefer that to the Subs.

Whose “us” :puzzled: Anyway, Ben might want to start experiencing some lower cost brands as Hodinkee is in bad financial shape.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

I like this. Reminds me of the old Genta retrogrades. Interesting movement design. Minus the “superleggera” on the dial and the Chanel price premium, this is something I would buy/wear...

Do you like that watch? It looks like a Minions to me. I know Pages is “so hot right now” to the deep watch nerds but that’s an ugly watch. And if he is going to put screws in the dial (something I hate) at least have them facing the same way. And use the same pinion caps for the hands. It...

a poorly stitched strap at that. Look at the white contrast stitching. Looks like Stevie Wonder did it. Has to be an aftermarket strap. Maybe after paying so much money for the watch, the owner could only afford a strap from Temu.

Raymond Weil is really hitting it out of the park recently. Not a fan of the moon face and the smaller minutes track but other than that, the independents can learn a thing or two about dials from them...

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

AD’s are the biggest flippers. All those hard to find watches that you see on Chrono24/Ebay etc didn’t fall off the back of a truck (at least not all of them). There are currently a few hundred new Nautilus on chrono24. Some are probably fake/franken. Some are retail flippers. But most are...

What in the world is going on with these indie watchmakers and their dials :confused2: :fu: Sometimes the wheel does not need to be reinvented. You have a great movement, great finishing, you don’t need gimmicks or offset small seconds, please stop this insanity. Edit: taking a second look...
