Gustin Appreciation Thread

I ordered a pair of the Reverse Tobacco Chamois Indy's from Alden of Carmel - they arrived today. These are my first Indy's/Trubalance boots. I was a bit worried how they'd fit since that last is supposedly bigger than the Barrie, but they fit like a glove. My god that leather smells awful...- MT1982

:( Sell them and buy black ones. Light color Alden shell is relatively rare, you can probably get a decent amount of money for them to put towards black ones (or towards Color 8 ones that you can then dye black).- MT1982

I put my name on the list for both the Cigar and Ravello boots at the same time. Took about 2 years, but I finally got my Cigars sometime last year. Still on the list for Ravello so it'll probably be another 2+ years or some such before I get those.- MT1982

Believe they're from a UK or French store - I'm drawing a blank on their name. The carry primarily modified last shoes/boots and they all have a heel counter like that. Their site is rather useless and doesn't list models which is why I don't have it saved in my favorites. EDIT: Had to...- MT1982

What size? Anyway, depending on what size you are... 1. Don't know anyone making a long wing boot of any variety, but Brick & Mortar has a short wing boot in Color 8 on commando with antique edges. They don't list what last it is, but looks like Barrie. You'd have to contact them for...- MT1982

I think the circled part is rubbing when you walk. Put the boots on and then flex them as if you're taking a step and see if that's what it is. I had a pair of choco tankers for a short period of time and they got a 'bald' spot there from rubbing.- MT1982

They probably caught the mistake and corrected it. This happens fairly often with JCrew. They'll put out a discount code and it'll work on Aldens for a short period of time until someone fixes it as it was never meant to apply to Aldens in the first place.- MT1982
