** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

To complicate things, I take US9D in Alden LHS and UK8.5E in C&J Harvard (both cordovan). That means I size down 0.5 in the Alden loafer (Van last) but take the Harvard (314 last) in my usual C&J size. I take 325, 335 and 341 all in UK8.5E. I think C&J’s advice is to go down 0.5 on the Harvard...

Tassels HK also has a Whiskey Harvard, on the 376 last: https://www.tassels.com.hk/product_detail.php?product_detail_id=719 Same with Gentlemen’s Footwear: https://gentlemensfootwear.com/products/crockett-jones-harvard-2-unlined-loafer-in-whiskey-cordovan?_pos=2&_sid=5c6168180&_ss=r

Yes, definitely on leather soles. I’ll reach out to C&J and see if it’s even a possibility to make it in Whiskey and with a short strap.

I like the idea of these. Personally I prefer full strap loafers on a sleeker last, though, like Alden’s on the Aberdeen last. But this loafer in Whiskey shell and a short strap - not sure I could resist that. Maybe something for the MTO thread?

I agree, the LHS is hard to beat. Some days I’m toying with the idea of putting a size 9E sole on the 8.5E Harvard just to see what it would look like. I’m in the same boat, a Whiskey LHS is at the very top of my wish list (hint, hint, if someone knows of a vendor with an open spot on a list...

For what it’s worth: I have the unlined Harvard in brown shell in size UK8.5E and the 986 in US9D. Similar in length, the Harvard is a little slimmer at the front and possibly also in the heel. Not by much, though. As is seen in the picture below - and mentioned above - the instep on the Harvard...

I think this is a good example of the fact that our feet are all different and that nothing beats really trying shoes on, until then it’s really only guesswork (more or less informed, of course). Maybe it has do do with the width, but if I only sized down 0.5 from my normal US size to my UK...

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

Loafers are tricky since there are no shoelaces to help correct an imperfect fit. When it comes to widths, in the US the “normal” (or maybe one could say medium) width is D but in the UK it’s E. So, often a US D equals a UK E. So if you’re an E that borders on EE in the Alden LHS you might want...

I only have a Harvard loafer in cordovan, so can only speak for that, but they run true to size for me. If I were to buy a pair of Boston loafers I would start TTS. At some point (not sure if they still do) C&J recommended going down half a size in the Harvard because they’re unlined. Had I...

    Crockett & Jones MTO Central

Quick question: Does anyone know if C&J will make a cordovan Boston loafer, i.e. a lined one, under their MTO program? I’m looking for a whiskey shell loafer and number one on my list would be an Alden LHS on the Van last but that could take forever (or longer), so my second option is Crockett...

The Alden Buy, Sell, Trade (B/S/T) Thread

Selling a pair of not so common loafers. These are Cigar on the Leydon last in size 9D. Bought (by me) from Pelle Line back in 2021 but never worn, only tried on inside twice to realize they unfortunately don’t really fit me. :( Shoes are in great shape, of course, they’ve been on my feet for...

Totally different! Not even the same brand, right? Looks like a Crockett & Jones on the left (ie right foot).

Those are heartbreaking news. I never met Jim, never even spoke to him, but here on the forum he was always a genuinely warm person with tons of knowledge. My thoughts are with his family, and Matt too. Take care of each other.

I guess there’s a first for everything - in this case my first pair of loafers, from Brick + Mortar in Seattle. Very happy with these! Some heel slip on the left foot but hopefully that will go away. (I was lucky to also score a pair of cigar loafers on Leydon recently but they’re still in...

Thanks for this. No high arches, if anything the opposite. I’ll only wear thin no-show socks or even go sockless, so hopefully it’ll work. I’ll report back, eventually.

Thanks! Considering I gambled a bit with the sizing I’d be very interested in hearing from others who bought this makeup how they fit compared to other lasts (or the Leydon suede chukkas).

Hi, As @barutanseijin noted mine are 9D. They are straight from the vendor.
