Do Hand Welted sole shoes need special skill to Resole than GoodYear Welted sole ?

As Son of Saphir mentioned, resoling the shoe on its original last is paramount to returning the shoe to its original fit. Any deviation from a factory resole is hit or miss, mostly miss. I know this through personal experience.

First corduroy suit, would brown or green be a better choice?

Given the choices, I vote brown. But I prefer blue, in a cotton/silk blend.

    Questions about "luxury" shirting

I‘ve been using Charvet for the last 25 years (and Turnbull & Asser before that) and have never heard the term ‘thread count’ mentioned. So, that leads me to believe that it is a marketing ploy most likely borrowed from the purveyors of high-end bedding.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

I waited over a year for a particular PP and that was in 1983, transacted through Tiffany, a prominent purveyor of luxury items. So I’m not sure that you’re identifying a recent development.

Where should I buy my first high-MTM or bespoke suit?

I‘ve never looked at a visit to the tailor as “fun”. Closer to a visit to the dentist .😏

Patch pockets for groom - little "dont" or big "dont"?

If the wedding ceremony is performed in a church or synagogue by a priest or rabbi, then jetted pockets are required. If the wedding ceremony is being performed at the city hall by a judge, then flap pockets are the right call. If the wedding ceremony is being performed at a beach by a dicey...

    Strange Kiton linen Shorts sizing

With RTW trousers/shorts, choose those which have the desired fit across the thighs and buttocks, regardless of waist size….then have a tailor take in or let out the waistband.

Linen trouser recommendations for a tall man

You need to shop for unhemmed trousers, then visit a tailor to have them finished to the proper length. Generally speaking, pre-hemmed trousers are aimed at the low to moderate segment of the market with fabric quality commensurate.

    Advice on Summer Suit Fabrics

One consideration when choosing a DB summer suit/jacket is that it will wear considerably warmer than a SB due to the extra layers of materials covering your midsection when properly buttoned…..as a DB should always be.
