I was browsing the Baird McNutt catalog the other day and was shocked to learn that their tailoring fabrics are 228 and 270 gsm respectively (it does indicate gSm). I'm familiar with both of these bunches and would consider both heavyweight, but the provided weights don't really correspond to...

I'm feeling irrationally angry about product photos again. Here are the high rise olive chinos I bought and next to them the relaxed chino with the same fabric code. How can the same studio with the same lights and the same camera produce such wildly different colors? The relaxed photo's color...

There's a wool/linen jacket from Moon in previews. Never seen any SS offerings from Moon, much less a linen blend. Their retail site has been updated recently as well. They're one of my favorite mills so my interest is piqued...

CS doesn't seem to know a lot these days. Fwiw I do remember now some fabrics having been made up in both SB and DB variants in the same season so maybe you're not out of luck.

I don't think I've ever seen them put out two different cuts of the same fabric, at least not it the same season. Sometimes an RTW fabric will show up in the MTO catalog though.

Yes I have the mock leno from SS21 I think. It's in the Fresco bunch- the weave is somewhat coarser than the other frescos. It's pretty much the platonic ideal for a summer blazer imo. Very breezy, drapes well, barely wrinkles- it's a good piece. Sadly I don't fit mine anymore.

Oh for real? Mine have jute soles and after a couple hours walking around St. Augustine I was ready for euthanasia.

Espadrilles and pavement are mortal enemies. They're great for the beach but that's about it ime.

Cloth shrinks and zippers don't, which can lead to puckering and other strangeness. Also, even quality zippers fail, and they're a pain to replace. The cons are as you say.

Officer chinos! The size chart indicates high(ish) rise, though they're not labeled as such. https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/british-khaki-chinos-8720-ry-3056-fw23

I think they would list the mill if it were Angelico- they're not ashamed of Angelico. This is probably a Chinese mill. Also... listed fabric weight strikes again!

It's not the models' fault... if they are indeed real humans and not AI personages. Whoever's in charge of styling them needs to be fired immediately though.

I'm strongly in favor of this and I hope it continues into FW. I can make Neo work in the summer but tweeds just never look right to me in Neapolitan cuts.

I just took delivery for one of these polos and I don't want to hyperbolize but I was revulsed by the texture of the fabric. I was expecting the soft almost merino quality of the polo sweaters from last year but these are not those. If it didn't have a fabric tag I would have guessed it was all...

No I don't. Their first attempt at the sack jacket was an abortion imo. But I have faith that they can get it right on their second go. I mean all they have to do is copy a vintage J Press. No need to reinvent the wheel.

I want more sack jackets. Somebody get in Rick's ear about that.

Interesting. There's also a "Tailored" category filter. Makes me suspect they may be planning to rename both their jacket fits

I don't wear mine. It's plenty durable, and it feels alright when you put it on. But if you're not in a chilly outdoors situation it gets clammy real quick. I favor breathability in shirts and I leave the insulation and weather resistance to layers. Also I didn't love the stark white river shell...
