RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine

I'm eyeing up that Essex boat shoe bigtime. The patina'd color would be almost perfect.

The MTO fee is still $50 direct. My bison Clymer boots were 390, but that's only because I paid extra for lining.

Maybe a different last? I'm the same size in the beefroll loafers and Ranger Mocs.

Mine look like loxo's. It does look like you could remove them without compromising the backstay..that area is already reinforced. I just think a whole strap/loop like that is unneccesary on a boot with that shaft height. I'm fine with my Clymers' pull tab though, which seems to fit the...

RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine

Anyone else think the Blake boot has so much more potential without the pull loop? I find myself constantly cursing the ones on my pair.

RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine

Yes, pretty much right on the money. Just a few observations for everyone's info: The Raptor sole is a little softer than your standard Christy wedge (a la Red Wings). I found it to be pretty comfortable right out of the box. The fit on the Clymer boot is pretty similar to the Ranger...

Cognac bison in the wild! Sorry, not a cuffer :) I took some pics earlier with a good camera. Soon as I process in Lightroom I'll share them. Long story short, there is very little red in this shade and it's about a shade between natural and brown CXL.

Don't worry too much about those shell boots, they bounce back with fury! I was just kicking my shell Tankers around NYC this past weekend, and they looked like new after a wipe down and brushing.

Initially, my 403s fit perfectly at 8.5D. However, the chromexcel stretches considerably and almost exclusively widthwise. Given the pattern of the boot itself, I think dropping a width can be safely done, especially if you're borderline. It's really not that much narrower but you can lace...

My cognac bison Clymer boots are en route. Should have them in a couple of days!

Who else got in on Epaulet's pre-orders? The Natural Innsbruck Indy sounds great, but I ended up ordering the Alpine Grain captoe boot. Barrie last + Commando has been perfect for fit and comfort for me with my Tankers so I really couldn't turn it down. I'm curious what they might get in...

Hey guys, as part of my resolution for the year I'm getting rid of things I don't use enough. That, in this case, includes my Epaulet Natural CXL longwings. If anyone is interested they're 8.5 D Barrie.

Bummer. Just FYI for everyone placing MTOs or general questions: It appears that Katie is no longer at Rancourt. I got an auto reply from her email address mid conversation. Sounds like Stephanie will be the go-to person from this point forward.

Weather has been dreary, so I had to pick the best looking thing indoors to snap with my new camera:

Best candidate for black shell IMO would be the wingtip boot.

Makes sense. I saw it was mostly used on the lightweight/barefoot-intended models. I finally placed my order yesterday. Clymer Boot, cognac bison, tan calf lining. I decided to stick with the Vibram wedge because that sole is simply a tank (I destroy heels but my 2yo Red Wings look unworn)...

Hey @FrankCowperwood , what do you know about the Casco lining? Never heard of it.

Good news! The cognac bison is available, and they are perfectly fine doing a Clymer MTO in that leather. I'm going to go that route...with a lot of travel planned next year, I'm seeing these as a near perfect pair to beat up!

RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine

I'm not one to post-hit and run, but unfortunately the last few days were ridiculously busy with some business travel. @FrankCowperwood , it's funny you mention that! I had spotted the cognac bison as well and really liked it's similarities to Alpine Grain shades that we see from the likes of...
