I'd potentially be interested in 2-3 pairs, you can DM me your price if you want Cool to find another Richmond guy, I've definitely never seen anyone wearing recognizable Alden in our town (then again seeing any nice shoes period is like seeing a unicorn here)

^ I have not, they are intriguing/unique. They are carried in more stores/states than I would have thought. Would love to see one someday, I assume they are in NYC somewhere so I'll look for them on the next visit.

Finally posting this, which I got in November. I think it's stunning.

I think Mont Blanc had the best showing at SIHH. I truly cannot believe I just typed that, but these are beautiful (beyond overpriced however) And this? For under 2k????

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

The all black GMT is still a stunning watch. I just got a BLNR from my AD last month (before all these rumors hit) and I truly love it, but it is not worth the current grey/used pricing. I don't know what you've been looking at but in the Rolex sports world I have a 114060 Sub as well, that is...

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

After hemming and hawing on it for almost a year I finally purchased a BLNR yesterday. I tend to consider these purchases for a looong time to see if the magic is still there in the end- and it definitely is for this piece. It's one of those that in some online pictures, the blue doesn't do it...

Ordered B&M's 4th Ave boot from Yenni yesterday, pretty psyched my size was available. First boot with all eyelets, hopefully that won't be a big deal. First color 8 boot as well, almost pulled the trigger on TSM's tanker but I think the PCT will be a little more versatile.

Good to see this thread going strong! It's been a good while since I've visited. I see a decent number of retailers have changed, and some things haven't (exotic shell still really hard to come by, and price hikes continue). I'll probably find it on my own eventually but I'm wondering if anyone...

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

I'll be acquiring a 3rd watch at some point in the coming months. I own a DJ and Sub and want to move up the ladder a bit for the next one. BLNR and C-Daytona are the top picks- BLNR will be easy to get from my AD, the latter no chance, and I won't pay 20k so that's out. To be honest, I've...

Yet another example where a 36mm DJ destroys the competition. I have a 116200 and could not recommend it more highly. I advise going with the oyster bracelet for versatility. The blue dial/stick markers is a winner. I went with silver but won't lie that every time I see the blue it makes me...

Baltic dark blue gilt dial chrono. Feels far above a $500 range watch.

How well do Mille's retain their value? I find them just atrocious, though I am aware there is some excellent horology to be found.

^ a total joke, just like the Omega tourbillon from that sale. The amount of speculative money that has moved into watches in the last 5 years alone cannot be understated. It's killed my interest in the vintage market completely, feels like the tippy top of a bubble and has for a while now.

I know he's got a lot of hype, but to go from limited edition 1k watches to non-limited, $7k watches is one hell of a leap. The dial looks interesting but me personally, I'm not a buyer at anything close to that price.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

There seems to be a lot of love/hate of this one, I really like it. I want to see it on the wrist first but I would love to own one myself.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

You won't lose money on it (paying MSRP of course) There is zero chance floodgates open for this watch. As others have said Rolex intentionally limits production to keep desire sky high. Older modern Daytonas in good shape, especially Zenith, have gone sky high on the pre-owned market in the...

Depends on if it's a B&M or online. Online greys typically buy it outright, no consignment.
