    Cars We Drive!

I told you all that I sold the built miata right? Lasted a month before I bought another one. This ones a bit more bougie with a leather package and the prht... And it's ten years newer than the old one. I also lasted all of a month before I decided to set off on a build. Goal is to keep it...

    Cars We Drive!

I think I got lucky with the rav4 I bought. Still a bit more expensive than it would have been a year or two ago, by maybe 1-2k.... but compared to everything else right now it was a solid buy. Ehhh just looked up listings and it looks like it was in the lower end of the current going rate...

Is anyone here from the Tulsa Oklahoma area and interested in helping to enable me make a bad decision?

    Cars We Drive!

I'm going to recommend the AWD V6 Rav 4.3. Get a 2011 or 2012 limited or the sport if you want stiffer suspension. Super comfy. Lots of space since the seats fold flat. V6 can tow 3500 lbs. Runs on regular and gets 25 highway if you have a boring right foot. I think the toasters are boring.

That picture makes the paint look wayyyy better than it actually is. It's maybe a 7/10. I wanted to do hood vents to keep things cool as a preventative thing but honestly I regretted it once I moved and didn't have a garage any longer. But also it would try to overheat every time I ran the AC...

    Cars We Drive!

It definitely did. I think I got advice on buying it here too! Wild to think that was 5 years ago. Learned everything on that car. From doing spark plugs...to swapping motors and learning to tune a little bit. What a ride. Here's the last picture in my parents driveway. And all loaded up...

I should have done a couple of launches on the miata... Car just sold...end of an era for me. Shipping company's going to grab it from my parents house today.

    Cars We Drive!

I'm thisssss close to selling my miata. Such a sad day but it was gonna come sometime. Gonna miss that car. I wish I still had a garage. I kinda want to build a 944 for autocross. I'll probably end up with an NC miata tbh. Keep it stock+ so I can enjoy driving it and not have to worry...

    Cars We Drive!

Spent all winter chasing snow to try to keep myself sane. Residency's been wild and we do a ton of call our second year so there's that. I listed the miata for sale and then pulled it because the car looks like trash. I'm going to go through everything and clean it up before listing it back up...

    Cars We Drive!

I did a thing after years of thinking about it. Might have to hit up @Thrift Vader for some JDM headlights because these aren't LEDs... Got peanuts for the acura TL in the trade but it had 167k and rust... I miss how smooth that motor was but man this thing makes me giggle with how...

7800 is nice, but my current R7000 works significantly better. Which is saying something because I used to race on the 7800 and it was fantastic. I do miss the IAB position though... @Fueco Because sram and Shimano are cross compatible for cassettes, ive honestly debated getting sram for one...

The only reason I'd try converting this to a gravel bike is because I think it would be hilarious. I don't have time for that anymore though lol. Like I said, id be more than happy with 28s. I think you may have misunderstood though. I'm pretty sure I said i wanted my next bike to be a...

Which is exactly why I didn't do it. Never considered doing a 650 conversion for this bike. It's one of the finest 'mass produced' 80s American crit/race bikes. That would be hilarious. I actually used to own its cousin as well, an 84 trek 520 which was a fantastic touring bike. That would have...

Horizontal dropouts. The issue is that the tire hits the seat tube all the way forward in the dropout. Cutting the dropout before the start of the RD hangar would give 1-2 mm of clearance. I also bought a carbon FD clamp because it's thinner than the Al one that I have. I don't care what it's...

I'm 165 ish right now. Trying to get down to 155-160 in due time. I'm off from work this week. Shooting for 200-250 miles for the week. 300-350 for the entire vacation but id be happy with even 250 tbh. Trying to get some climbing and hill repeats in. I might end up racing collegiate again...

And here's the daily bike so to speak. The trek has been on the kickr lately. This is a ghost nivolet 105 that came with 5800 that I slapped on the trek and rebuilt this with R7000. The wheels are debadged Williams clinchers. I'm semi tempted to sell the carbon wheels and put the money into a...

General Bike Thread (Desiderata, Questions, Pics)

I was very close to putting a 1 inch Columbus minimal on my last build but ended up holding off because I didn't think that would have added to the build even though it would have brought the weight down by a pound or so. If I ever deck out the frame with DA or whatnot so that it sits in the...
