The Italian horse hide is not a Horween tanned hide. Its a nice hide though, fairly thin but still durable. The recent Viberg in Crust Horsehide is a Horween tanned hide that used horsebutt and horse front. Thats a cool makeup too. In summary...the Italian horsehide is a good option and...- totalair1

Some recent offerings that mention horsebutt. However I don't think the recent offerings in horsebutt is the same as what Context did with the 3 ply Horsebutt that included the shell cordovan sandwiched in-between and a 3 layer material and the boot was unlined. I'm under the impression based on what Context said when they released their version of Horse Butt that includes the outside rear hide, plus the shell cordovan which is sandwiched inside and indeed is a membrane. I can say the Context Horsebutt is an excellent thick hide, and based on the crust...- totalair1

I Agree. If you're not wearing made to measure shoes/boots then wearing a thicker sock is fine...specially on boots. I vary width only on my Alden's. Barrie, Trubalance and maybe a few others a D width, Grant, Van Aberdeen I wear and E width. Since virtually everyone has 1 foot bigger than...- totalair1
