Yohji, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Looser Fit (Yohji Yamamoto Thread)

@the shah. Big thanks. You were spot on! I actually ended up getting pairs of pants in size 2, 3, and 4. Unsurprisingly, you were right and the bigger two fit best by far via virtue of the length. I'm really digging the pieces I have so far and am only missing outerwear. I'd love to get a...

Yohji, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Looser Fit (Yohji Yamamoto Thread)

Thanks, bud. I was a bit confused with the whole affair, not being too in the know with Yohji. The size 4 waist measurements are crazy in most instances. I'm 183cm but also 68kg. Some pants become cropped by virtue of this. As do OTR shirts in a lot of cases.

Yohji, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Looser Fit (Yohji Yamamoto Thread)

Continuing my theme of simple, insipid questions for this thread, could any of the Yo-Pro's help me out with general sizing. I'm 183cm and have been looking to grab some YY pants. Looking about I gathered I'd be a 3, but everything from 1 to 4 in Pour Homme seems to have stuff that would...

Yohji, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Looser Fit (Yohji Yamamoto Thread)

can anyone help me with these pants? https://item.rakuten.co.jp/ragtag/r2101604082398/?scid=af_pc_etc&sc2id=af_117_0_10001056 They're linen tapered pants in size 3, but the waist measurement from the store says 76cm. This doesn't seem right at all. I've never seen a pair of Yohji's Pour...

Yohji, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Looser Fit (Yohji Yamamoto Thread)

@STRUTTER, thanks for the tips. I definitely needed a size 3 because of my long arms and legs. Phew. Turns out I love Yohji's shirts. I have generally always dug oversized button ups. Why did I sleep on his for so long? They're amazing.

Are y'all actually excited about IE's return? The previous stuff was nice design and fabric wise, nothing special, and terribly constructed. The full lining was lousy, the sizing inconsistent in a terrible way, the fit awkward, and the buttons may as well have not been sewn on. It was...

Yohji, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Looser Fit (Yohji Yamamoto Thread)

I'm looking at picking up some Yohji stuff. The tops are easy: just buy big. The pants process is, well, complicated. I'm between a small and medium waist size. So I figured I'd err on the side of caution and look at size 3 stuff. Well, some of it seems about right, some is huge, and I've even...

Random Fashion Thoughts (Part 3: Style farmer strikes back) - our general discussion thread

What are y'all thoughts on jumpsuits? I bit the bullet and kopped a JJVE one in cotton/linen for the approaching death heat of an Australian summer, and I gotta say it's pretty sick. Comfy and easy to wear. Looks pretty good and it's actually garnered a few compliments (and some jokes). I'm...

That's the real killer. I've been into this stuff for over a decade and I've gone through a half dozen favourites, looks, rules, styles, brand to follow, brands to avoid, and so on. Nowadays I have a personal, definitive style that hasn't changed much in the last few years. I'm not interested...

That wool/cashmere shirt jacket is sick. And cheap. One of you bigger boys should jump on that thing.

I don't want to be, or dress, exciting. Besides, what does someone like Harnden or Geoffrey B Small or Layer-0 have that he doesn't? It's all "not that exciting".

Uma Wang looks all right. But looking at her stuff (and @Mojo1990 's post above) reminded me that Forme D'expression are still about and pretty great. Forgot about her for a bit there. Ya. Since I wasn't too into m.a+ clothing in the past, I've got plenty of old ground to cover. Even if it is...

Abasi Rosborough is cool. Just not my cool. They're too sleek for me. I tend to look more like I sleep in my clothes.
