    Handled swatches of both last week and would agree. Tropicalair struck me as both heavier and more densely woven--more suitable for a crisp-textured jacket in cooler weather than for an open weave, spring/summer hopsack.

    Yes--Takara Red has a couple of extra years on it. Japanese Blanton's Gold (essentially Takara Red at 103 proof) is especially worth seeking out and is probably the best of the Blanton's lineup, in my view.
