RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

A few months ago, I ordered RMW Yard Boots for my wife, and a pair of MTO ankle boots for myself, from Steve. They took a bit longer than expected (I'd wanted the Yards shipped immediately, as they should have been in stock at the factory) but they did finally come, and the Yard boots were...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

I wouldn't worry, since they don't answer any enquiries about warranty work these days. (At least, they sure don't answer mine). Jeez hope i didnt void the warranty. LOL

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

One would just love to believe them, but since I can't get an answer to my emails and fax, I'm forced to believe they've had a change of heart. I guess it isn't about drying the soles after all. "If our customers do their part, we'll do ours when it comes to repairing R.M.Williams boots."

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

RMW's site specifically warns against the use of rubber oversoles. Apparently, they stop the leather sole from drying properly. I've been wondering about leather soles with rubber Topys applied to them.

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

For a Haligonian, absolutely. They're stickier, but there's no deep tread to pack with snow (which then grips other snow, and gives some security). Forgive my ignorance, but are the composition soles inappropriate for winter use too? Gav

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

Steve does seem to be a good guy. But he's pretty well dropped off the radar since I received my boots, looking great save that they had the (trauma-inducing) composition soles rather than the treaded. He told me to send them back (and Canada Post's tracking has indicated that they're "out for...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

Will leather soles be completely useless for Toronto winters (snow, slush, salt, etc...)? Completely. But your boots will be in fine shape to pass on to your next of kin, because a few steps outside on an icy day and you'll be dead from head trauma. Assuming you've got remarkable balance and...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

Ha! Yeah, probably quite right. The funny thing is that the CS was really quite extraordinary the first time I dealt with them, and now it's like they don't exist. What do you expect? They specialize in bootmaking, not customer service. If they specialize in customer service the boots would...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

My wife's Yard boots have rubber soles, and they're glued, screwed, and stitched: the toughest combo available (according to the RMW site, anyway). Still no response from RMW to my frequent emails (and now, fax): their customer service sucks. I'm about done with them: I've found a local...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

I've been wearing a pair of RMW Trail top-boots for about three years now, and they've been great. They look good, resist water really well, and they're very comfortable. I discovered more than a month ago while putting some saddle-dressing on that there's a very small hole in one boot. It's...
