The Official Artisanal "streetwear" footwear (boots, shoes, sandals) thread (Guidi, CCP, Augusta, M.

Is there a comprehensive guide to Guidi lasts? The numbers (992, etc.) and the variations (Z, S, etc.)? Thanks for any advice.

Saint Laurent Paris - Official Thread.

Leather backpacks are definitely a step up but also highly impractical. I had to decide between leather or non-leather when I purchased a Cote & Ciel Isar and I'm glad I chose against leather. There's no way it is even remotely as sturdy. If you use the backpack more than 3-4x/week, forget...

    Offical Barbour Thread

Frankly, Barbour stuff--the classics anyway--are utilitarian. My life revolves around a New England university campus, so roughly 1/3rd of the year I'm more concerned with staving off rain, sleet, snow, and wind than with whether the collar is too large (if anything, the large collar is welcome...

    Naked and famous denim

I like N&F for their interesting offerings most seasons, but find the leather label on the back *super* tacky. I've taken it off all of my pairs. I have a silk blend from a few years back, a smoke-grey pair, and another I forget.

To add to what's been said about leather jackets and fit: it's not my impression that Saint Laurent leather jackets are intended to fit like Julius, Rick Owens, or other brands where a skin-tight fit is the intent from the start. Compared to those designs SLP riders are almost boxy. It won't...

    The Official Common Projects Thread

I've bought on Grailed, it was NIB or 9/10 condition, off-white lows as I don't actually like the true white which is, as you say, blinding. :) I've seen standard black, navy lows in the 250 range on eBay as well. It's really a matter of being lucky I guess. If I needed a pair quickly in a...

Oh, I definitely don't. I don't mind paying that or higher for other footwear but CPs are definitely not there. I've never paid more than $250 for BNWT Achilles. I was just musing on whether people new to fashunz would really jump from <$100 Adidas/whatever to >$400 CP. And people new to fashunz...

It's funny that you'd say $500 Common Projects are for the person just trying to get into better clothing. Surely there are options in the $100-$400 range that they'd go for first?

    Offical Barbour Thread

The funny thing about this that I'm not sure is pointed out often enough: the Bedale can actually be damned slim-fitting. You just have to size it perfectly, and most of the time this is not possible when buying online. Barbour sizing goes down to 30, I believe, but most people tend to just go...

Calm your pants. I have no problems about my sexuality, which (as it happens) goes anywhere. If anything it's the forum itself that has shown me on multiple occasions that some choices or interests can elicit negative/ridiculing responses.

True, all denim expands at the knees, but the SLP did it more than anything I've ever owned (Naked & Famous, APC, Tiger of Sweden, Rag & Bone). I also wash my jeans pretty regularly, but no luck. EDIT: Also holy **** guys I realize we all admire different aspects of SLP but please let's not...

Thanks guys, will look out for a pair of D10s. Regrettably my experience with D02s has not been that good. I had it hemmed a while back and tried it out on a recent trip. Frankly it can't be called skinny any more, really more "slim." I had another pair of jeans--lightly coated grey Rag & Bone...

Would someone explain to me the appeal of the teddy? I realize it's one of the most Instagrammed and recognizable things SLP has done, but unlike the Le Smoking, the boots, the L01, or the jeans, it doesn't strike me as something really unique, something essentially SLP? Like at the end of it...

True, these looked very nice too. However, after handling them in person I was less impressed. The toebox/tip is just a bit too pointed. The chelseas/other boots have a noticeable chisel-toe which is delicate but still somewhat angular, this one goes too far IMHO. Also, seeing photos of these...

Shame the 60mm boots didn't sell well. IMHO those may be the best boots--in terms of heel height to shoe form comparison--I saw from SLP. 40mm is good, but not really distinctive. It's just 1.5" basically.

If I know it's going to rain I try to wear Bean boots (in winter) or suede bucks (with Nano/other repellant, rain is just going to bead right off. Often been caught in thoroughly ugly weather out in the Northeast and suede shoes just roll right on.
