180 was definitely snugger than my Alden’s or other loafers. It felt strange at first, especially the thicker soles, but after walking around a bit, felt great. If your big toe is a little cramped at the top, the leather will give a little. Making sure toe nail is clipped and wearing thinner...

If it literally hurts on sides of your feet and your toes are squished to the point of overlapping unnaturally, I’d consider 6.5E. If it’s just snug at the instep, that’s good. A loose instep causes heel slippage. You want that part snug. The shoe will stretch a little but not to the point that...

It's a *****. But once you find your size, you're golden. General advice with 180s is to size down 1.5 from US size. I'm US 8D in 99.9% of my shoes and my 6.5D 180s fit like a glove.

Thanks for the input. Did you notice any difference in shape/weight? I'm leaning towards the normal rubber sole as it looks sleeker and I don't plan to be out in the rain without an umbrella.

Any thoughts/experience with new "all-terrain" Antarès Chelsea Boot vs the Rubber Sole Chelsea Boot? Former's sole seems a touch thicker and the leather more matte finish. I wonder if the practicality overrides the aesthetics? @75009 You try the Antares?

I have these in leather sole and love them so much I’m thinking about adding a rubber sole for ****** weather days.

It really depends on the last. JMW is all over the place. Most common shoe is 180 loafer and rule of thumb is go down 1.5 sizes from your US size. I'm US 8D so JMW 180 6.5D. But, for example, in their Chelsea boot I wear 7E (many exchanges to figure this out; don't recommend).

I am: most shoes 8D, Alden LHS 7.5D (they run big, heel will slip if you get normal size), Alden Tassel 8D, JM 180 6.5D.

Thoughts on new Anterès Chelsea boot with “water-repellent” upper compared to Chelsea rubber sole?

It’s larger than their “Small” in other models, though.

    Cashmere Sweater Hierarchy

Anybody know why William Lockie only starts from size 40" on certain models? I really wanted a 2-ply cashmere Melrose Vee Neck, but the 40" was way too big (particularly around the waist). They have a "Small" in some models which fits well but only offer it in 1-ply cashmere. Oddly, their size...

Jacques Marie Mage - Wolves, Obnoxious Acetate and The American Dream

"Small face" guy here with trouble finding sunglasses. Bought JMM Zephirin 44s but noticed they sit higher than my other frames. Is this the design or perhaps bridge a bit too narrow? As far as fit/comfort, they feel great all day.

US-based here. I'm an US 8D in most shoes and 6/D in 180. Made the rookie mistake of ordering a 6/D in the Chelsea boot, and it "fit" but my pinky toe was riding up the side. I feel like 7D might work, but mirroring what @Zapasman said about sizing, J.M. customer service recommended a 7/D in...

Curious if Le Cambre Chelsea boot sizing is similar to the 180s? I'm a 6.5D in 180s (typically 8D in US sizing).

Baudoin & Lange "Sagan" Belgian Loafers, a clumsy review of an elegant shoe

I went with the leather sole. I agree the "comfort" is a little overrated, but they're the sleekest, softest loafers I've ever owned. I plan on adding rubber half soles after wearing them in a little more.
