Recommend a Paris Neighborhood for 4-day visit
spent two weeks within walking distance of the Bastille Metro stop back in Nov. very convenient and great area. i'd do it again. -Jeff- gamelan

probably totally heresy to the purists but i basically made a martini sour and i'm really liking it. two sugar cubes dissolved in the juice from one lemon 3 shots of tanqueray rangpur half a shot of lillet shaken twist of lemon as garnish makes for a really nice looking drink if you're into...- gamelan

anyone had elk?
have had the elk medallion dish a few times at the Lakefront in Mammoth Lakes, CA. highly recommended. they don't even give you an option of cooking it any other way besides rare. i didn't find the meat particularly gamey at all. -Jeff- gamelan

just got back from two weeks in Paris. Meurice and Arpege were both amazing. What did you eat last night for dinner?
last full day in Paris after almost two weeks here. gonna miss it. for lunch it was a mushroom and raisin salad, ox tartare, and chocolate mousse at Aux Deux Amis. great deal for the price. for dinner, a bowl of pho right near the Bastille. -Jeff- gamelan
