    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

I have a pair of double monks from the classic collection which I've worn for more than a year now. The soles have started splitting at the seam recently (a common problem for the early batches of the classic line if I remember) and as a result, the shoes are now squeaking from the soles as I...

Thanks for the input. I was worried about the sizing because a lot of remarks online for Woodlore shoe trees are with regards to inaccurate sizing, especially with the Epic twin-tube model. I'll be going with Large then, thanks!

I'm planning to buy some Woodlore Ultra shoe trees from Amazon for a friend and myself. I wear a UK9.5 Loake Capital and he wears a UK9 Loake Capital. Is there anyone here using Woodlore Ultra trees who can give a sizing reference? I'm thinking a Large would suit us both. Thanks!

    Filson Bag Thread: With Pictures

I'm planning to get a 256 in either the regular navy or the navy twill + tweed version. I do like the accent that the Harris tweed provides, but I'm a bit concerned about durability. Will the tweed be more liable to fraying/getting soft as compared to the 22oz canvas?

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

Same here. 28cm long, 11cm at the widest part. I have the Hiro DMs in 10UK and they fit alright now. (At first, there was a bit of heel slip and I was afraid it was too loose, but nowadays it seems fine) I think a 9.5UK would still be OK, but anything smaller would definitely be too tight.

    Filson Bag Thread: With Pictures

Thanks for the info guys. mullitia, that sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing. The softer strap wrinkles more and the flesh side had more stray hairs. If it's something minor, then I won't be returning it because I bought this from Urban Outfitters and had a friend bring it back to...

    Filson Bag Thread: With Pictures

Thanks for the info, didn't know that the Red Label ones used a different weight. Having said that, I'm not comparing the thickness of my tote's straps to another Filson, but rather, comparing between themselves i.e. the tote has 2 straps, 1 on each side. The strap on one side feels much...

    Filson Bag Thread: With Pictures

I recently started using my zippered tote (red label, navy) and I noticed that one of two straps feels much softer/thinner than the other. Not only that, it's also rougher on the flesh side of the leather. Is this something to be concerned about? It's not going to break, but at the same time...

**The Official Shoe Care Thread: Tutorials, Photos, etc.**

I have been trying some out myself as my feet overpronate as well (or are perhaps slightly flat). What I've found is that even with the thinnest ones I could find, they typically raise your heel too much resulting in heel slip because the heel cup is now more shallow, and depending on your...

**The Official Shoe Care Thread: Tutorials, Photos, etc.**

I have a pair of Florsheim Veblens which recently started to squeak really loudly on one side when walking. After some investigation, I found it's actually the double leather sole which is squeaking. If I press on the outsole firmly with my thumb, right where the sole would bend naturally from...

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

Extremely helpful info, thanks! Sounds like the 9.5F Capital would suit me fine. :)

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

Good to know. I've heard the Capital is a generous last as well. I guess what I need to know then is, how big a difference is there between a 9.5 and 10. Meermin's site seems to suggest it's about 4mm in length and only 1mm in width. Thanks tho!

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

I need a bit of reverse sizing help here, hoping you guys can help out. I have a pair of the Meermin Hiro double monks in UK10. I wear it on the tightest hole on the buckle nearest to the ankle, and if I push my foot forward, I can make about 2-3mm of space between my heel and the shoe. I have...

    Filson Bag Thread: With Pictures

Argghh. The navy zippered tote is back on The Clymb at $69. I just bought it at UO last week at $99. :( Oh well, just posting this in case anyone else was eyeing it.

ninad: That's not a bad deal, will have to remember that site if I ever decide to get a 256 as well. I've just ordered my first Filson, a red label zippered tote in navy. Will be using this for my frequent weekend trips and perhaps anytime else I need to carry some misc items for gym, etc.

    Filson Bag Thread: With Pictures

Looks like all the bags at TheClymb are sold out. :-/ Was thinking of getting a zippered tote as my first Filson. Anyone know if TheClymb tends to restock these? Else I'll probably settle for getting it from UO as they still have it, albeit at a higher price.

The how-to Leather Artistry Thread: Sourcing materials/supplies, advice, examples of work

I've just started a bit on this myself. Began with belts which were simple enough. Then I went to a workshop at a local leather artisan here in Singapore, followed by tons of reading online in forums and watching youtubes. Have made some small card holders and a passport holder as a trial...

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

Hmm this is odd. Mine are 28cm and 11cm, pretty much similar to yours. I'm wearing UK10 on my Meermin DBs, Hiro last as well. Also very slight heel slip, although I am buckling the strap nearer to the heel on the tightest hole. I've also always typically worn a EU44/UK10 in most shoes.

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

My factory seconds arrived about a week after payment was made via ebay. Thankfully they fit fine, although there is some heel slip, hopefully that resolves as the shoe breaks in.
