The Official Thrift / Discount Store Bragging Thread Part III (Sept 2018-)

@carreragt7 Not real Vietnam Tiger, but I always pick those up if the price is right. That’s likely made by a contractor/hunting/tactical manufacturer and a vet (who might’ve actually worn tiger) probably patched it.

@HansderHund Ahhh yeah a bunch our companies ended up doing civilian versions of all kinds of military shapes. Still rad!

@HansderHund That lined parka looks like an M1947, the precursor to the Fishtail. Should be a label in the lower right pocket.

I think Cone made all of the LVC denim (even the earlier, lighter weight versions), but I could be wrong. The original would’ve been made by Amoskeag in New Hampshire. Also no idea on where it’s bejng woven now since Cone went under?

@carreragt7 @double00 is spot-on. I’d guess late 40s/very early 50s on that. It’s basically a modified Levi’s type 2 clone that’s lot of companies seemed to make. Never seen Big Horn, but they were probably a regional brand. Reeeeally cool find! VintageWorkwear on Instagram may able to give...

@Bon Vivant Life Looks like a transitional 2nd to 3rd pattern poplin Jungle Jacket (looks like it has the gas flap in the inner placket?). Probably 66-early 67. Not big money, but solid.

@GetBlatzed As @Dirt said, probably early civilian market pants. I definitely would’ve grabbed those. The style of pant wouldn’t have been military issue and most tiger stripe I’ve seen will have either no tags or a stamp. @impuntura I would surely buy that for $5. Probably nothing special...

The Official Thrift / Discount Store Bragging Thread Part III (Sept 2018-)

I’ve been trying to catch up on the past couple of weeks, but it seems to rain almost every day. Mixture of thrift, trade, estate sale and a couple of buy/sell/trade. Early 90s the Cure Bootleg I tend to hate these, but the vertical stripe is sick. Late 90s Amon Amarth, 80s Honda 80s...

@mo56029 Schott is 70s, Lee is 30s/40s. That label is called the “House Mark”. From the other stuff on the label I’d guess on the earlier than later side. Great ******* find.

Spent the past few days scouring north GA, TN and AL. Every time I thrift in Alabama I have infinitely more respect for what @drlivingston finds. Some of those stores are the least organized I’ve ever seen, and I like to dig. Average PPU around $5 Vietnam barracks bags x 5, 80s biker hat...
