Jacques Marie Mage - Wolves, Obnoxious Acetate and The American Dream

I'd love to see a picture of them being worn, very curious about this frame! Are they as dark as the pictures online make them look?

Thanks! I do have a narrow head so most frames tend to look big on me. These definitely fit me better than the Fellini, for example.

I stopped by the Hollywood JMM store today and was able to try a few things on. This store is smaller than the Abbott Kinney one and seems to have less inventory, but still nice. I was really hoping to try the Leclair in agar but they only had it in sand. It's hard to get a good feel for the...

Jacques Marie Mage - Wolves, Obnoxious Acetate and The American Dream

I wanted to share my experience visiting a JMM store for those who might find themselves in the LA area (and just to help this thread get back on track in general lol). I was in LA for work last last year and had some free time before my flight so was able to stop by the store on Abbot Kinney...

Have we seen any pictures of the Leclair on a face yet? Curious about this one.

How is JMM doing any sort of a disservice to "bigger headed people" by launching one or two frames on the smaller side? There are tons of offerings from JMM that fit on the large side, including many classic models, and relatively few that fit small. Enzo, Torino, Yves, Dealan 53, and more come...

They can offer this in-store. The lenses aren't stocked so would have to be cut to order by the people working there. I purchased tinted lenses for an RX frame instore, I believe it was $175 and took 20 mins. The only difference is that the ones I have don't have the "JJMM" etching.

Assuming you're looking at acetate models, this is where I would start: Good for a narrow face: Deveaux/Loewy Zepherin 44 Kellerman (if you can find it) Might work, worth a try: Julien Molino Fellini Dealan Vendome Broadly speaking, probably more narrow options with the metal frames.

While reading the 1000+ pages here, I've seen quite a few discussions around eyewear storage ideas as well as mentions of the awesome briefcase that JMM carries. After some sleuthing I was able to find the manufacturer that makes those briefcases and opened an account with the factory (big...

Wink Optics in San Anselmo and Opt Optometry in SF (by appt only) are both great and have strong selections. I've also wondered about South Bay options but am not aware of any.

Good call! And agreed the Ichikawas look great on you.

Jacques Marie Mage - Wolves, Obnoxious Acetate and The American Dream

Hey all - for those here that are still learning how to navigate JMM and find the right pair, I put together this guide to help. It includes things like an overview of the core models and how they fit, the main acetate colors, frame measurement comparisons, where to buy, etc. Many thanks to all...

I noticed those too, they look nice. Measurements look on the smaller side too which is intriguing as well after so many big frames.

Thoughts on Beluga Fellini on this narrow noggin? (also these arrived one day after ordering from the JMM site, must be a new record!)

What color is beluga, exactly? Is it black? Or like a super dark tortoise? Looks good, but for some reason I can't really get a feel for how they would read in person. Would love to see pics from anyone who has a pair.

Thanks for the info! I haven't owned a car in over a decade so fortunately I don't have to worry about that aspect. But good to hear your thoughts on the colors and their undertones, which I agree is important.

For those that have gotten transition lenses with tortoise-y frames (argyle, agar, havana, etc), what color lens did you go with? Seems like amber is a safe choice but wondering if folks have had good results with others as well.

Thank you for the kind words and good tips. I am definitely curious about both the Fellini and Ichikawa, they are on the top of my list if I can ever find some to try on!

Thanks! And yes, it seems that this descent into madness is a well-beaten path on this forum haha. At least we have good company!

Jacques Marie Mage - Wolves, Obnoxious Acetate and The American Dream

Hi folks! After reading all 1000+ pages here I finally got my first pair last month...and as with many here, my second pair came not long after. I have a somewhat narrow head so have to keep a close eye on fit - some of the "core" models felt too big on me, but I found the Julien to be a good...
