Munky, I got some regular sized 8oz bottles of Lexol conditioner and Neetsfoot oil from Motorgeek UK last spring. http://www.motorgeek.co.uk/cgi-bin/ecom.cgi?Command=BrandSearch&db_manid=14 Well worth a try and even in these sizes they go a long way.

+1000 BTW Great job on the MTOs Brummie, IMO the rough out material and the sole unit gives the last shape a nicer silhouette than the regular Snowdon. very nice.

One edit to the sourcing of the C&J Skye boot. Was just on the Ben Silver website and they also sell the calf leather Skye, theirs comes on a dainite sole unit, I think the regular C&J model comes on a leather sole so nice to have some choice...

Both Skye calf and shell versions are indeed C&J shops and C&J mail order only. I think the calf is around 425GBP inc. VAT and 600GBP inc. VAT for the shell. There'll be P&P ontop of that if you get them by mail order. You should contact them via their website to check on availability of...

Quote: Good spot Brummie, 30GBP cheaper than C&J and free shipping on items over 250GBP. Good deal. I have a real problem with C&J's frankly outrageous international shipping charges for single pairs (30GBP). Islay from C&J mail order will set you back 455GBP all in with no VAT back for EU...

The Shell Cordovan, non-Alden Shoe and Boot Thread

Looks like Herring Shoes are no longer holding stock of Church's Grafton and Shannon in Burgundy Crup (Cordovan). They've added the limited sizes they have left to the sale and seconds section which you can access from the home page http://www.herringshoes.co.uk/ There seem to be more...

Crockett & Jones for Ralph Lauren Cordovan (Marlow, Darlton, Gifford, Garran, Lindrick, McCallum, Rh

Quote: Love these Namor and nice combo. Will have to get a pair before C&J replaces brown version with blue shell ;-)

Quote: This Brummie, navy just doesn't do it for me (btw I have handled the black scotch grain that C&J uses on Onslow and Grasmere and I don't like it either so perhaps I have a double negative bias here). Having said all that they have a nice distinct silhouette and look good on you...

^^ No probs. Some nice heritage stuff on Purdey and not just the footwear collection which used to be more extensive. The Grain Leather Twin Strap Boot look stunning. http://www.purdey.com/clothing-accessories/mens-grain-leather-twin-strap-boot-boot042.aspx Unfortunately oh so very expensive.

^Not sure about them brummie. Not having seen them in person I don't like the photos on the C&J website. Bit too fashion fwd for me. Something that Church's get slaughtered for on Styleforum Would prefer any of the Consiston variants available through James Purdey for pretty much the same...

No. The Snowdon boot on a commando sole has one but the rest don't.

I don't think the OP was implying that c&j are discontinuing Ashdown and all bluchers completely, just the shell model. Most c&j shell shoes have or had calf leather equivalents. TBH I think the rtw shell range needs a bit of a shake up, the shoe list has been pretty static for a while...

Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread

Herring Shoes have some dark brown espresso bourtons on sale, 7.5 and 8.5 5/F fit at the moment, 260GBP so 100 below current UK retail: http://www.herringshoes.co.uk/product-info.php?&brandid=50&catid=135&shoeid=4248&selectedsizeid=6&selectedfitid=2&stype=1 Also Shoehealer indicated in a...

    Churchs shoes--shannon

Quote: The only problem for the OP is that Shannon predominantly comes in Polished Binder and while I agree with you that binder can cheapen the look, the RRP of Shannon is anything but! 425GBP seems to be going price for them at Herring Shoes...

Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread

Some tasty cordovan seconds on the Retrickers ebay site today, a UK 8.5 Allan boot (4497 last), a UK10 Bourton (4444 last) and adding. All a bit pricier than the normal calf leather seconds, 300GBP.

Almost certainly a discontinued style although Pediwear appear to have one pair in size 12 stock http://www.pediwear.co.uk/crockett/products/451.php

***The official Alden thread *** Share enthusiasm, reviews, sizing, advice, and photos.

I’m based in Europe and I’ve previously purchased Alden directly from the US therefore it’s frustrating that Alden now prevents US retailers shipping product internationally. It’s not as if the brand is particularly well known here where it is a niche heritage name stocked by a small bunch of...

Yup, that's my reading of it too. But it raises the question are Church's correct in saying that a toppy can negatively alter a shoe or is this complete BS. Alden and Tricker care inserts to the best of my recollection don't mention this and C&J doesn't provide care instructions with their...

Quote: Most of my shoes are Church's or C&J, a couple of Aldens and Tricker's and the above looks like a high quality job, however I have never put a toppy on the soles of any of them because of the following The above is a scan of the care card that comes with all pairs of Church's and...
