I cannot say how his shoes compare to Bemer, tho Bemer himself has passed away. Roberto is a lovely man with which to work and should you be in Florence, he is definitely worth a visit. The cheapest Japanese pricing you list is slightly more than double Ugolini's pricing for the first pair in a given last and then he is 20% less for subsequent pairs in the same last though with Up charges for boots or shell cordovan or exotics. Also, Ugolini travels every year to Japan...- Luvwine

Prices are subject to change, of course, but he was charging 1500 euros for the first pair and 1200 for each subsequent pair on the same last. Price is higher...- Luvwine

Is black suit an acceptable business attire?
I usually wear my black suit to funerals and in a choir I sing in where it is the uniform (with a black shirt). Still, I sometimes wear it to the office and I think it works fine, tho I still think charcoal grey is better.- Luvwine

Don't know other than to say a dark brown calf. I picked it out with Roberto's help. He does do a bit of burnishing if you want but he prefers not too much and this pair has just a mild darkening toward the toe. I let him guide me and he recommended this leather. It has some texture...- Luvwine
