Stopping by after 7+ years away.

Hello Boys, I was going through some old books and came across Steve Brnikman's book from 2003. It was like a blast in the past and made me think of this forum and the time I spent here. While I am not sure if many of the same posters/lurkers from 2002-4 are still around - nor do I think...

    Gianluca sportcoat

I think we are all speaking of the same items. John, can you point me to the article that states they are made by someone other than the Isaia company. I remember reading a trade article that stated differently. Also at the same time there were some other Style Forum old timers who were a bit...

    Gianluca sportcoat

I believe that the Gianluca line is a company line of Isaia. I am sure there are more, but here are the Isaia lines that I am aware of: Enrico Isaia - Blue Tag not pictured. Gianluca Isaia - Black Tag Above Gianluca Napoli - Blue Tag Above

    Gianluca sportcoat

In terms of quality, I think that the Gianluca items are pretty well made. They are clearly a step down from the Isaia line, and are fused which is a problem for most of us here. But of all of the fused pieces our there, the Gianluca stuff are some of the best.

    Sartorio (Kiton)

"Wow, Andrew... Talk about a blast from the past. I can't remember seeing you post since around the time I was lurking and finally signed on here several years. You must have felt a disturbance in the force, eh?" I am surprised that anyone remembered me, it has been awhile. I did sense a...

    Sartorio (Kiton)

I have a couple of Sartorio pieces, and find them to be of excellent quality. You would have to be very skilled to tell the differences between Kiton and Sartorio. If you ever see a piece that catches your eye, I would recommend buying it.

    My wife's dream

Well, I know that I have been gone for quite a while but this morning my wife told me about a dream she had last night. I knew that you guys could appreciate this, so I had to return for this posting. (though none of my bookmarks work anymore) Here is the dream: My wife was shopping a local...

    Pal Zileri

I am not Johnny, but have several PZ sartorial items. They are without question a cut above Canali, Corneliani, Zegna, etc. On par with Brioni, Zegna Napoli, Isaia, etc. A bit below Attolini, Oxxford and Kiton in terms of construction. I believe it has made Robb report best of the best a couple...

    Favorite troll?

Thanks, but my visit was/is to send a PM. Not sure if I am able to moderate myself enough to visit frequently.  As evidenced by this fast response.   I would say all Nordics, and most Europeans would find John Kerry unacceptably right wing. And Bjorn, you are dead-on when you write that we...

    Favorite troll?

The infamous ClassyFreddy.  That was a memorable afternoon for me.  Is that thread still around?  Be funny to read through it again.  Although I actually may be "an ass".

    It's time to say goodbye

The time has come for me to bid my adieu. I have spent too much time and money as a result of this great forum, and need to break my addiction.  Before I go, I must say that I have enjoyed the forum very much, and while I rarely had anything of substance to add, there are those which I wish to...

    Question about ralph lauren lines

Admittingly I know nothing about how the clothing business works, but why would RL even entertain this idea? With such a limited distribution of product, and no in house production I can't see where it makes business sense. It would just be adding unneccessary overhead. I wouldn't run it that...

    Question about ralph lauren lines

Sorry, my business sense is egging on a reply. I am not sure how the addition or subtraction of RLPL would have any dramatic impact on profits at all. I know nothing about how they operate, but I am assuming that they drop ship purple label items. In essence, St. Andrews manufactures and ships...

    Good lord!

How come nobody has bid yet? I would if he dropped a zero.

    Do things reappear on bluefly?

I actually had the same exact thing happen.  I bought the black RLPL/EG because the browns were out of my size.  At a later date, someone must have returned a pair which I promptly snapped up.  I was as happy as a pig in New Jersey. If they have in your size, go for it, even if they have a...

    Yoox codes?

I would hope so, or the field to enter them is the all time worst tease. Well, with the exception of that one girl...

    Seriously people

Oh come on, I am sure you have good intentions avtar, but I am not intersted in serving on a committee. I just wish that people would use common sense a little more often.

    Bluefly polo cordovan chukka boots

Boy, you guys keep rubbing it in. They are out of 11's, and I am still crying about it.

    Carlo franco shirts

That is a good point, but as someone who owns both Jantzen and Carlo Franco shirts I think they both represent excellent values. With Carlo Franco, you are getting a Borrelli quality shirt at an Ike Beher price. With Jantzen, you are getting an Ike Beher quality shirt at a Perry Ellis price. So...

Still no Yoox codes out there?
