Japan bespoke for around $1000?
I have looked in this price range, in Tokyo, for years and all I found is: bite the bullet, burn some mileage, go to HK for a long weekend. The all inclusive cost-benefit ratio is still better than buying in Tokyo AND it gets you out of the Matrix for a few days. Chan, Ah man, Baroman...- Gatsby

highly highly disappointing..!! the best thing were the pants, but fabrics were so boring!! fit was good though; perfect for skinny asian boys. shirts, coats, jackets, etc.. looked cheap, didn't fit well (i have long arms so sue me). hate to say it but it 'looks Uniqlo' in the end. only got...- Gatsby

HK Tailor: A-Man, Chan, Yao (or all)?
I've had suits made from both Chan and Yao, and I also recently had a blazer made at the former with very good result - can post pics on request. I even tried out their Neapolitan shoulder which Yao said he would not do. That said, in terms of styling I think Chan is much more flexible than Yao...- Gatsby

What are some good running shoes?
Definitely go to a store that specializes in running shoes and gear. For what it's worth, I'm a mild overpronator, I wear Asics Gel-Kayano 14s and I'm extremely happy with them. +1, I'm still on my Kayano 13s pretty much all the serious runners I have spoken to swear by their Asics.- Gatsby

critique my Jantzen shirt (measured by Ricky)

Suits in Tokyo? (reasonably priced)
Agree with pretty much everything so far on this thread.. just to add, Perfect Suit FActory (sic) does MTM for ~20,000, you can add nice details like working sleeve buttons (machine stitched of course), horn buttons, etc. Quality pretty much on par with Suit Factory and other similar stores. thanks for the comments. during normal wear the sleeve length is fine, though admittedly in the picture it doesn't come out clearly because I didn't "prep" myself much for the picture and my watch got caught on my right sleeve.- Gatsby
