Quick update if it matters to thread readers:+) , finally decided. 3 nights in Rome, train to Firenze which will serve as our base for 10 days driving and getting lost around Val D'Orcia, Arrezo, Siena, Volterra etc. Also planning a day trip by train to Bologna. - Looking for eat recos in Roma...- Thanks SF (a new me)

The Italian Travel Thread
Been 10 years since last time in ITA. Planning Rome > Florence > ( possibly Bologna) > Milan Flying in to Fiumicino then trains in between then out from Malpensa. 15 days. Been to Florence (3 days) and short 2 days in Milan. Would like to spend at least 5 days in Fl/Tuscany. Too short/many...- Thanks SF (a new me)
