Another Spanish Shoe brand - Yanko

Has anyone tried both the Yanko 960 and the Alden Barrie lasts? Would they be the same size?

Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread 2018 - News, Pictures, Clothing, Accessories, etc.

Every pair of Aldens I have does this. I suspect it helps the show flex, but even if it's a defect it's not a problem.

Look for posts on the fit of the 915 last. There are some in this thread (including by me), and plenty on Styleforum and other sites as well.

What color suit should I wear as a defendant?

I think you need to "look the part." Is this a civil lawsuit or a criminal charge? If you're a blue-collar (or no-collar...) kind of guy, a suit is going to look fake. If you're a business executive accused of defrauding investors, don't wear a $10,000 custom suit. Wear something YOU would feel...

The 962 pinches my toebox, which was really unexpected since they're listed as a G width while the 915 is an F. The heel is fine for me, since I have a narrow heel. I may try the (in)famous trick of soaking them in hot water and seeing if I can get them to mold to my feet, but I'm not...

I did get a pair in 915 last. Compared to Rain-EEE, they're slightly snug, but much better than regular Rain. The leather isn't quite as nice as Carmina (it's less than half the price) and the break-in pretty rough right now, but signs point to the shoe turning into one of my favorites. Other...

Another Spanish Shoe brand - Yanko

Anyone have insight on Yanko 915 or 962 vs Alden Modified? I have high arches, wide toe area, and a narrow heel. Carmina Rain-EE, Alden Barrie, and AE 65 are all tolerable, but each tends to slope back in a way that hits my second toe. I want to pull the trigger on some Yankos, but I think...

Thanks for this - I have a follow-up: How do they compare re width? Regular Rain-EE is slightly too snug for me, while Rain-EEE is quite nice.

Some stuff Styleforum members overly obsess about

Oh, and Ravello and Color #4.

Some stuff Styleforum members overly obsess about

Name-dropping when it doesn't matter (e.g. "I was talking to Hamilcar at Allen Edmonds's Shoe Bank in Cartagena and he recommended I go in a EE width"). Lasts. Pretending GYW shoes are more comfortable than sneakers for casual wear.

Dress well but avoid styleforum stereotype?

I think the key is to dial it back from what you CAN do. I have a tonal blue plaid suit that racks up compliments, and burgundy or bourbon shoes stand out. I can't imagine ever wearing a pocket square, boutonnière, navy shoes, or even Galways (I have a pair of Carmina oxfords in calf and...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Yes, but GMTOs on the Rain and Forest lasts don't usually include a EEE option. It would be great if they did.

I think they'd do well to include EEE as a standard option on any MTO using the Rain or Forest lasts.
