They're not functional and too expensive. Take out the expensive comment if you wish if cost is not an issue. They are not functional because they will not be waterproof, despite Tricker's suggestion to add dubbin to the welts. And compared to modern technical hiking boots they will be too...

This has been discussed previously, but here goes again. They look amazingly nice! But the problem is - GYW or any of its variations (storm welting etc) is not waterproof, even with (as Trickers suggest) adding a smear of dubbin to the welts. And how much do they weigh? My present Meindl boots...

Trickers have announced a new model of boot - the Corbett. Apparently a genuine hiking boot. The blurb (you've probably all received the email and video link) featuring Tricker's young and highly talented woman who (forgotten her name) also assures the genuine hand-welted bespoke service of the...

I'm confused about who make(s) Commando soles for Trickers, or just who makes lugged Commando soles in general. I few years ago I took a pair of Boughton brogues back to the Tricker's factory shop for a second sole replacement. The commando-style lugged soles, which had hairline splits...

Yep, good to know. Suede is difficult. Maybe not a good idea to wear it in the kitchen.

I haven't double checked my stats, but it seems that's the 42nd pair of Trickers you've posted. As usual first class. Not sure what size you are, but if they're 9 or 9.5, and you wish to sell some, I can offer 50 euros/pair !

I have a pair of these, but not with the natural welt. They killed me at first. The upper part seems to be higher than for other derby models and rubbed like hell against the ankles. They're fine now but they did cause some injury.

Nice scotch-grain leather chelsea boots. I think I recognize that pathway.

But what do you use on the uppers? It is pretty difficult to polish or oil the uppers without touching the welt isn't it? If you use a neutral cream and include the welt and heel stack in the application I think these will darken anyway. If not neutral, then a light tan cream would work, and...

How old are they, by curiosity? And again, do Trickers make any veldtshcoen construction does anyone know? Again, obviously by curiosity.....

With fear - for being asked to leave the thread - I must say the C&Js look fantastic. I do like the slightly narrower and stylish shape, while it still remains a sturdy shoe suitable for country or town, and obviously excellent C&J craftmanship. I'd wear them casual, formal (season permitting)...

Yep, once more - very nice. Have you thought of paying a cobbler to convert the, maybe top 4 eyes to hiking-boot style hooks? I've done that on quite a few boots and it works well. It helps the middle section keep tight, which I prefer. I see in your photo the middle lacing section is splayed...
