Anyone heard of the maker Viyella?

I can't say I've had any experience with the shirts, but I have one of the company's robes, from Ben Silver. It's quite warm while also being light and breathable. However, the caveat is that it's really rather itchy.

    Pink Chinos

I wore a light blue shirt with pink pants just last Saturday. I have no idea why you'd restrict yourself to just white. Who gave you this idea?

    Shoes for tuxedo

While you could certainly get away with a pair of highly polished cap-toes at most black tie events, I wouldn't recommend it. Patent is the only appropriate way to go. Personally, I find slip-ons affected, so I choose to wear patent shoes with laces. I would also recommend investing in a solid...

    Sweater Vests

While I know they aren't exactly high fashion these days, I'm rather fond of sweater vests. Does anyone know of a decent manufacturer of sweater vests? The only ones I've been able to find are simply horrendously ugly or of laughable quality.

Help needed with an ensemble for a friend

I'd prefer the second choice if the pattern were a more focused houndstooth, as the patterns seem rather blurry to me. However, I think the second option is the best choice of the three.

Suspenders with single chest 2-pieces suits

Having attended at least several hundred black tie events in my lifetime, I can easily say that I've never seen it to be the norm where men button their dinner jackets, particularly men with a sense of style. Where are you based, kidkim2?

    Tailors in nyc

I've been searching for a good tailor in New York for quite some time now. I have used WW Chan in the past, but I'm not especially satisfied with the fit or the cut of Chan products. Does anyone have any good firsthand experience with tailors in New York? I tend to favor conservative...

Suspenders with single chest 2-pieces suits

I'm in the minority, but my own acquaintances do not leave their single breasted jackets buttoned constantly. Most, in fact, rarely button them at all. Doing so would look very affected, at least in my opinion. Shockingly enough, given that most of these fellows are neither under 30 nor living...

    Pocket squares

imageWIS, I'm still rather confused by your position. Your position is that one can make most anything appropriate, however, that pocket squares are strictly meant for men over the age of 25? I must respectfully disagree. I would not suggest the pocket square as a look for everyone, but...

    Pocket squares

I regularly wear pocket squares, and I'm usually rather upset when I don't have one that will go well with a particular shirt and tie combination. The key is to have the right pocket square. imageWIS, I mean no disrespect by this, but your argument is complete rubbish. If one is young, one is...

What to wear with my new seersuckers?

With blue seersucker pants, I'll usually wear either a white or pink polo shirt or a button-down. I'll almost always wear white bucks with seersucker as well. I like to avoid combining anything navy with blue seersucker as I find the blues clash in terrible ways, at least in my eyes.

    Socks with seersucker

I would suggest blue or grey socks. In my opinion, light colored socks with seersucker pants is an atrocity, but I am a fairly firm proponent of darker hosiery. I usually like to pair seersucker with white bucks though.

    Ben silver

Phil, I must say I'm very surprised at your comments. Seersucker, repp ties, ribbon belts, and most anything from J. Press are items I would have never thought to associate with high fashion and trendy clothing. Regarding the jacket length issue, it may be an intentional "mistake." I...

    Ben silver

I've been a customer of Ben Silver for a number of years and I've found their products, while expensive, are of good quality.  The style is definitely something that isn't for everyone, as you won't see the average man on the street wearing a tie and a blue blazer around as his normal dress...

    Nba draftee style

I'm afraid McGarrity's article proves something I've thought for quite some time, namely, that most women know little to nothing about men's clothing.
