The Least Official Natalino Appreciation Thread

I concur with this on the trousers. I can wear Natalino, but not the old SM. I intend on trying the new SM High-Rise cut to compare (the back rise and seat are supposed to be improved). My only issue with the Natalino trousers is that they're inconsistent across fabrics and colors. Last season...

Nope. This one: https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/brown-check-prince-of-wales-check-neo-cut-sportcoat-9215-ne01 It's under "Neo Cut." But if you select "All Sportcoats" that one (and the Moon one) do not come up.

I've been basing my decisions this season on the product photos, not the model ones. They're not perfect, but at least they lack the odd photoshop/AI flatness. Previous seasons' photos were better for color and texture, but the torso mannequins are very poor at conveying shape.

Just a note: That sportcoat is already available. But for reasons that will probably remain mysterious, it is not under Previews, or New Arrivals, or even Sportcoats. But...if you simply search "Moon" in the Search Box, it'll come up...

They offer the VBC in high-rise single pleat every Spring in multiple colors, including three grays. They also currently have the Clissold (part of suit, but seemingly available separate as well). VBC is their standard high twist Spring trouser. Others will be part of a suit or other fabric...

Thank you for the feedback. It's definitely small-to-size then. I'm 42 in Besnard, but it's a trim fit across the back. I would be XXL. No low rise trousers here, which is why I'm always on the lookout for these types of sweater polos.

How did you find the sizing on the polo? The size chart makes it appear quite small (24" half chest on the XXL!), but I'm curious for a real-world opinion.

Have we received any confirmation, via user experience, that SM's High-Rise trousers have significantly changed? Anyone who could not fit the previous iteration that is able to wear them now? A few suits are intriguing, but I've always had issues with the (lack of) rise and seat on their...

That's true. Although I think you're right that Neo and Traditional in the same fabric is unlikely. I don't mind the Neo but I prefer the Traditional lapel shape. It would be useful if Spier offered a broad preview for each season, at least of the special pieces (apparently the M&E is a...

I think you're both right here. Common fabrics like VBC are often made up in both trouser models, for example. But the one-off/seasonal fabrics tend to be selected for one item only. I did inquire with CS and they responded that they didn't know if the fabric would be made up in another model.

I wonder how the Marling & Evans fabric compares. It's actually slightly lighter (290 vs. 320) and I personally quite like the somewhat flatter(?) appearance of its texture. (Mock Leno looks great though too.) Anyone have insider knowledge on whether these fabrics are coming out in Non-Neo cut?

Thank you for the reply. The pictures online are pretty good. I'm wondering about their claim that they have a wider forefoot for comfort. My foot is a US 'D' width, but it's verging on an 'E' depending on the make of the shoe.

Can anyone speak to the fit and quality on their more recent shoe offerings? The Gilman and Berkeley are both versions of what I've been looking for, but my foot tends a bit wider with a higher arch (oxfords can therefore be an issue). Hard to tell fit from the photos obviously, so any insight...

There are a lot of new things going on around here, and this may very well be one of them. (My own neck/sleeve size in their shirts is no longer a regularly stocked item.)
