    Montreal?

    So, just no?

    Montreal?

Any shops worth checking out? I’m particularly looking for stuff that’s hard to find in Europe. But nothing too avant-garde. I’m more on the CM side of SWD these days, if that makes sense. Cheers.

    Tracksuit bottoms with classic tailoring

Right. Now swap the big coat with a big tweed jacket, and you're still in the same ballpark, no? There's a whole tradition of wearing tweed jackets as outerwear after all.

    Tracksuit bottoms with classic tailoring

I completely agree. But I think there is a culture-rooted way in which a version of the tracksuit bottoms and sportcoat combo can work. It's a kind of updated campus style. Students, including grad students these days, wear a lot of athleisure, and have done so for a long time. And certain types...

    Tracksuit bottoms with classic tailoring

If he had been born after 1975, say, he might well do it. Not many Italians of his generation wore double denim, for comparison.

    Tracksuit bottoms with classic tailoring

Alan Flusser is a fan. I confess I've done it occasionally, but only when wearing a tweed jacket as outerwear. Thoughts? After jeans, is this the last frontier in saving the tailored jacket, or is it a hopeless aberration? (I realise this is CM-adjacent, but I don't fancy the prospect of the...

    Let's Talk About Bookcore

The people who first define a trend--in this case, Derek.

    Let's Talk About Bookcore

I disagree. Maybe I'm only saying this because I dress quite a bit like this, but it's a much more modern and less cosplay-ish style than either Ivy or Dark Academia. For example, Bookcore can include fleece, modern trainers, some modern technical clothes, etc.

He has been completely exonerated multiple times: https://www.theguardian.com/film/2021/mar/03/allen-v-farrow-woody-allen-mia-farrow-documentary-is-pure-pr-why-else-would-it-omit-so-much I don't mean to derail this, it's just that many years ago I started a thread on WA as a style icon, and Vox...

Crompton: "It rarely feels appropriate to wear a pocket handkerchief anymore"

I would love it if the iGents in three-piece suits could admit that they are doing a subcultural thing, just like the people in urban ninja streetwear.

    Causal/Fun Outfits with Structured Shoulders?

I've been coming round to this view lately. @dieworkwear did a blog post on this years ago, if memory serves.

Crompton: "It rarely feels appropriate to wear a pocket handkerchief anymore"

Finally. https://www.permanentstyle.com/2022/01/why-im-wearing-more-belts.html May CM as cosplay continue to die, and may we find judicious ways to keep wearing CM garments in coherent modern outfits.

    In Praise of Business Casual

As an aside, this is something I often do: grandfather collar shirts with tailoring. I think it works quite well to casualise things, and almost always better than t-shirts (except chunky knitted ones). I don't know why it's not discussed more often.

    Bespoke western shirt?

Huh, just appeared on Amazon.nl. Ordering it now.

    Bespoke western shirt?

Speaking of which, when is it coming to European Amazon branches or other booksellers? It's not even available for preorder.
