SPIER & MACKAY - Official Affiliate Thread

What is the default color of the lining in the standard suits? I’m considering ordering one in charcoal https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/charcoal--10005t-0013-nsnt-ss23 but don’t really feel the need to go full custom. However, I’m not a huge fan of the burgundy lining, and that seems to...

ALLEN EDMONDS APPRECIATION THREAD EDITION 2O22

It depends, but I normally also use cream polish on calfskin dress shoes for some extra shine and color maintenance. Casual shoes/boots I only use conditioner since I don’t want more shine. I’m not much of a wax user.

ALLEN EDMONDS APPRECIATION THREAD EDITION 2O22

I figure everyone here can appreciate some good patina. Here are my ~10 year old Finches. First pics were when they were only a few months old, compared with today. These have never had wax or polish. Only regular conditioner and brushing. The shine is just from the leather being smoothed...

    MoneyWellSpent's Southern Trad Thread

Without seeing a photo, I can’t say if a Color 8 shell loafer would work (or if you own them), but it sounds like you have already determined that burgundy isn’t ideal. I think this would be an ideal scenario for a black loafer. Certainly a shell Alden LHS or tassel loafer would be ideal, but...

The high end Chinese Shoe Thread

I think hinged, lasted trees are considered the premium option. However, I have questioned this, since I have seen where the shoe tree no longer fits snugly in the shoe after it is broken in and slightly stretched from wear. The precise fitting of the hinged tree can actually end up with a...

The high end Chinese Shoe Thread

I took the video to simply be stating that these shoes are the best shoes that can be bought anywhere in the world right now for that price from a technical (specs) standpoint. I think Justin knows that aesthetics will always lead people to other brands regardless of the price. He was just...

    Split Toe Derby

Sorry for the late addition to this discussion... I fully agree with what was said in @dieworkwear posts on this conversation. The only thing I would add that didn’t seem to get mentioned is that Color 8 shell is a great alternative to black with charcoal flannel. I also shy away from oxfords...

Skoaktiebolaget – Enzo Bonafé, Saint Crispin’s, Löf & Tung

The other way around. My TTS is normally US 10.5 D. In Foster and Son, I’m wearing 9.5 E. In Crockett and Jones, I’m normally either 10 medium (E) or 10.5 narrow (C in contract shoes such as Peal & co.).

That sounds about the same for me.

For English makers just Crockett & Jones. It depends on the last, but normally half size down. Sometimes same size but one width narrower. Never tried Carmina. Most of my other experience is just Alden and AE.

I actually don’t have any EG. But, the standard recommendation for their lasts seems to be only half size down. I haven’t tried them (yet).

Also, Foster and Son actually recommend a full size down on their website as well.

I have a pair of Keble’s, and was advised by Skoaktiebolaget to go a full size down from my US size. They were right in my case, the fit is spot on.
