    I wasn't aware that there's a "hooded" per se Bedale. The regular Bedale/Beaufort/etc models have a snap-on hood sold separately. The waterproofing works fine when the wax is in good condition.     Ebay pickup: Got a good deal ($105 shipped), I guess because "rustic" is not a popular color. I went TTS (46) for the sleeve length. Still could use another inch or so. I'll give it a season, and decide if I want to send it in next summer.

     I would focus a lot more on the external condition: scratches, fading on the dial, things like that. The ETA 2824-2 is the exact opposite of what you were saying. It's one of Switzerland's top workhorses, there are millions of them ticking away, pretty much anyone can service them.

     Yes. Rolex changed the font sometime in the '80s, so the "open" 6 and 9 are signs of a vintage model.
