I'm a long time Barrie last fan, but really want a pair of Aldens built on the 379x Military Last. Has anyone tried or owned both and can comment to their differences in daily wear? I love the wide toe box of the Barrie, while it being narrow enough in the heel to not slip around. Alden X...- JCT22

At some stage it becomes more about the hunt than about enjoying what you have. And that can turn into an appetite that is never satiated, so you have to ask yourself why you're doing it at all? Best common, highly available dress sock - I'm throwing my socks away!
I'm throwing all of my socks out! In a house with teenage boys I'm tired of hunting for a sock match so I'm going to buy 20-30 pairs of identical black dress socks and throwing everything else away. Tried these gold toe windsor wool socks but they aren't nearly as good as the old gold toe...- JCT22

I've tried so many shoes over the years but the only ones that seem to fit me well are Alden Barrie Last 10 D. Longwing bluchers, Plaintoe Bluchers, Chukkas. I absolutely love them and attribute part of it to the wide toe box and the shape just fits my foot as if my foot was the last they were...- JCT22
