Brushing dress shoes after wear and keep mirror shine?

I don’t see a problem brushing after each use. That said, I don’t, but I do try.

Is it a faux pas to wear cashmere in the spring time?

The answer is no. None of my friends know what cashmere is.

Alden Modified Last: If You Wear, or are Interested, Please Read

Interesting. There is no size or width of Barrie that fits my foot. My go-to pairs are all TB or ML lasts.

Not controversial at all. This is similar to my experience with Barrie. 9.5C Brannock, tried 9.0D in Barrie, and it came close to ruining my foot. I have messed around with a lot of other sizes in Barrie, but basically, a size that "fits" bumps against my small toes and is too loose in the...

I have not, but I have put a 1149 Montagna (which is similar to the 100 with far superior rubber) on a Modified Last that had the factory Goodyear heavy lug sole on it. They kept the 270 welt, and it's fine. Furthermore, Alden factory Goodyear heavy lugs are found on a number of...

I can believe it. I have orthotics that fit perfectly when placed in Modified Last, with support hugging my arch. If I put the same orthotics in Trubalance, they bang up against my heel. Therefore, the arch in TB seems further back relative to ML.

Woops, didn't see this. The model numbers are on this page (for some reason, 2 of them are not Indy, ignore those). https://www.brickmortarseattle.com/lace-shoes?category=Last+Trubalance I have the reverse chamois models in commando and wedge. The commando is a 270 degree welt, which fits me...

It's been going on for a couple of years, but I think Yenni has been hitting it out of the park with her (now very large) line of Indy shoes at Brick and Mortar. They are super comfortable, the shoes have an awesome slim heel, and there are a ton of interesting styles and leathers. I thought...

Just out on YouTube, today's Full Grain Podcast hosted by Nick Horween. Here to put conversation to rest regarding the Indy dissection and criticism of materials is Wyatt Gilmore, owner of Grant Stone Shoes. Among the quotes from Wyatt: "there is a reason they use those materials; sometimes...

One more thing. If you want to try some risk and live on the side of danger, find an oil spot that is on the side and not too easily noticed. Put a small dab of rubber cement and let sit over night. Sometimes this extracts oil if there isn't dirt grimed into it. Also, there are some leathers...

These look awesome. I never have much luck with lexol, and threw my bottle away (it smelled like it was rotting). The only thing I would try is spot cleaning with some Bick 4 in the creases, but they really look good to me. If/when that doesn't do much, saturate a rag with Venetian Shoe...

I can only speak from experience using ML rubber soles, which come with an insert that I replace with a custom orthotic. My current cycle is to wear ML 2 days a week, Truebalance shoes 2-3 days a week and Plaza 1-2 a week. I do 9.5B rubber sole with orthotic (that is more like a 9.5D in leather...
