Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

As some have suggested, you can have EG make you the exact pair. Sadly, for much more than a song.

I believe you can attribute (not entirely) the distinctiveness of those early models to the influence Tony Gaziano. He had his hand in those earlier models, modifying things here and there, and actually made lasts on site. The style and overall feel of EG is a little more conservative these days.

https://oxs.335.myftpupload.com/2019/08/29/last-call-for-summer-tweed/ That should provide some info, as well as, what the material I'm referring to looks like.

Unless it was a summer tweed (DieWorkWear's for instance) or something similar, the shoes might be out of place. Thinking a light airy material paired with heavier fall/winter footwear seems incongruent. As you mentioned though, that's from my pov. Opinions do and will vary.

@Mr_Spud mentions traditionalists might scoff at the idea of Pembrokes being worn with suits. I would agree with that comment, because I wouldn't wear them with suits but there is a caveat to that. Soooo, I'm half a traditionalist 🤷🏻‍♂️. When the suit clashes stylistically with the shoe...

There's a song by the Hives that comes to mind here...Hate to Say I Told You So. Well it is a title befitting the issue here. The issue being tan shoes, to me, are seasonal. No issue with someone picking up the color, but this color looks best worn in the summer. As such, I find the color...

They really do. Look like a black pick-up truck with a showroom finish.

The Lopez, Weston 180, in that order, is what I'd buy in a black loafer.

    Split Toe Derby

Bullshide has high tensile strength so it gives you that tough thicker fiber, yet because it is from younger animals it will be softer and more pliable. Which is why you get that shell resemblance.

That is a great cheat method to use to arrive at that conclusion. 👌🏻 As @Texasmade mentioned though, it is indeed calf leather. However, it is a steer or ox (not sure what ages the UK stops designating them as calves). It could be 11 months (like in the US), or as much as 18 months...

Damn impressive they look like that on a regular basis. 👌🏻

Might be the external lighting and angle, but the colors & shine are captured beautifully.

The black and in that cross grain leather pattern would elevate darn near any style of shoe/boot. It's fantastic. He already covered that one in the other pair he has. The maker probably darkened it a touch.

Sadly there aren't many color options in that leather, but you certainly can spread the colors amongst the different available styles.

They look really good. Leather is fantastic. Wear them in good health.
