Up for sale is a Luigi Borreli Napoli suit in staple navy herringbone wool. Brand new without tags. NEVER worn (outside of tailor fitting).
Tagged a size 40R, but fits like a true size 38S or 38R.
It has very "SF-approved" specs: three-roll-two button stance, unpadded shoulders (spalla camicia), and a navy herringbone wool fabric. This could be a workhorse suit for someone.
I am selling this one because I just could not make it work at the tailor. It is too small for me. This is one of those examples where I should have stepped back before I asked the tailor to "make it work." It just wasn't going to happen. The jacket length in particular doesn't work on me (too short). I had the pants waist taken in and hemmed, and jacket sleeves taken up, but the tailor couldn't give me any extra length in the jacket without a major, costly operation (letting out material and reshaping the jacket front).
My loss is your gain. This is a great staple suit at a great price (less than something at Suit Supply). Pains me I couldn't make this work.
I could ask more for this suit (paid $550 for it), but since I had it altered, I am applying a SF discount to it. I could ask more for it, but want it gone because I can't make it fit. My loss is your gain.
$350 $325 $285 $269 $259 shipped CONUS. I will ship to the rest of the world if you pick up the added shipping cost.
Specs:
-Made in Italy
-Slim cut
-Very lightly constructed jacket with canvas material and some light fusing (see picture below). The jacket is so lightly constructed that the lining can be lifted to reveal the light canvassing. I did a pinch test and the canvas is not free floating, but the canvas is there. For people that really like light construction, this jacket is really on par with a cardigan.
CANVAS CONSTRUCTION
-Totally unpadded shoulders. Spalla camicia.
-Three-roll-two button jacket
-Staple navy herringbone outer fabric (100% wool)
-Double vented jacket
-Half-lined jacket
-Slim cut with great trim waist
-Will generally need little or no alterations off the rack
Approximate measurements in inches:
Shoulders (seam to seam from back): 18.10
Chest (pit to pit): 19.85
Sleeve (from seam to cuff): 24.25
Length (from base of collar): 28
Waist: 33 (with material to let out)
Rise: 10.4
Inseam: hemmed with cuff at 29.5 (with material to let out)
Leg opening: 8.15
Measurement Method:
-All suit jackets and sportcoats are measured with this method. It is the "gold standard" for measuring jackets.

-DO use a vinyl measuring tape, which can be purchased in the shoe repair section at most pharmacies. (Or do an Amazon search for "vinyl measuring tape" and get one shipped to your door)
-DO NOT use a ruler or a retractable metal measuring tape (the kind used by carpenters). Those will give you inaccurate measurements due to their form factor.
