Hey guys,

I put together a video with my grandpa's old Gillette safety razor and it really does give a killer shave. Do any of you use a safety razor daily?

I've been using it a good bit since I made the video. It definitely adds time to my morning routine but it's a great shave.
There's a ton more info on these things over on the Badger and Blade forums.

I use a safety razor everyday to shave and have been very impressed with the quality and closeness that the razor can provide.

Benefits:
1. Cost effective. Replacement blades cost on average between $0.10 and $0.25 depending on how much you buy at once. Blades can also last an extremely long time, much longer than cartridges in my opinion.
2. Can cut down on irritation. Since safety razors have just one blade, they effectively do the same job as four blade cartridge razors. Going over one spot with a four bladed cartridge razor causes more skin irritation as each blade slightly scratches the surface of the face and neck. Less is more when it comes to shaving, more passes over a spot is certainly not better.
3. Less clogging. Cartridge razors have an uncanny ability to get clogged with hair often, and you end up wasting more time trying to clear the hair out under the faucet than actually shaving. Safety razors clog far less, and if they do, generally a quick screw of the handle to loosen the blade and a pass through some water will take care of it.
4. Durability. A minor investment in a quality safety razor ($25-$35), and it will last forever.
5. It's classy and nostalgic. It's pretty badass to shave like your grandfather, no denying it.
