Not sure I agree with you that this is a good fit in the shoulder. You've got gobs of extra material in the back (boxed in yellow). Based on how the fabric is lying, I've tried to extrapolate where your body is underneath (in red). I think you need a 38. Slim or contemporary could come down to a...

It’s like they are following this forum’s comments on how bad the new styling is and then trying to top themselves. “What if we put a model who’s 6’1” in a regular instead of a long and then put him in a pair of jeans from the Walmart factory store?”

Between the "secret" Moon jacket under discussion today and the "undercover" high-twist VBC trousers, it is incredible how bad the website is after all these years. I had been watching the site like a hawk for the usually high-twist/fresco trouser drop and only found out they had them in stock...

A while back someone posted his comparison of the "old" high rise trousers to the "new." I returned a pair of the "old" style a couple years ago because I didn't like the way the pleats lay. Is anyone in the know as to what season the "new" high-rise was introduced?

I wore this suit (or rather, a previous iteration of it in the same fabric) yesterday and received many compliments. I bought it on sale a few years ago. I'll save you the heartache of telling you what I paid for it, but inflation is real! As for "traveling well" I have never dry cleaned it...

I don’t know about @dapperclassic, but I have my dress shirts washed and pressed at the dry cleaners (NOT dry cleaned though). You can specify starch levels (I go no starch and they still come back very smooth). Hasn’t seemed to impact longevity of the fabric. YMMV

I think the new cut looks much better. If nothing else, the pleat is laying nice and flat. Also it looks like the old cut is giving a bit of a wedgie. Both are nice!

To me, sport coats are about interesting patterns and textures that wouldn’t work as well for a suit. Check out the “napping” (I think that’s what it’s called) in this fabric. It gives the coat visual interest without being loud.

I was about to disagree with you, but I checked the website quick just to be sure (I wouldn't want to be WRONG on the INTERNET for crying out loud). Anyway, you are right. Check out the pics for the medium gray Travel Suit. The model's neck and chin look like they belong to a 25 y.o. finance...

I believe the Tailored has been used for a while for the Red Label suits. My understanding is that it's some kind of middle ground between Slim and Contemporary

Anyone else notice that the Filters for suits now include a "Relaxed" fit -- albeit no suits are found if you select it. Has there been any official communication about a Relaxed fit coming?

Thanks! My last Neo purchase was a suit from SS18, so I don't feel qualified to opine. That suit also is worsted wool with a full-lined jacket. It has always felt a bit constricting, to be honest, which is why I've avoided Neo cut since. But I know there have been tweaks to the pattern, hence my...

Okay. I'm no @DonRaphael or @1st Step when it comes to taking Spier "in the wild" pics. But here's my best, quick attempt in natural light. Gray Check sport coat (Contemporary 44L) (https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/di-pray---gray-check---72-24371-nsc-01-fw22) with VBC medium gray...

You all are sleeping on a great winter blazer here. I got mine delivered this week. Can't believe there are so many sizes still available. Goes great with the VBC mid-grey flannels. Would go even better with a medium brown flannel...

You are correct. There are two mid-grey options in VBC's online catalog. It seems Spier was only able to get the darker option this year (the "/4") The charcoal flannel on offer is the "/6". I would have preferred the "/3" mid-grey, but I'm happy with the ones Spier produced and I think even the...

This may be too late to be helpful, but someone asked recently about the difference between the medium gray Minnis and VBS flannel trousers. Here's a picture of both side-by-side in natural light. (Minnis left, VBC right). Overall, I would say the website photos are pretty true to color. I...
