THE 2024 ALLEN EDMONDS (AE) APPRECIATION THREAD

Does anyone here own a pair of courtside sneakers? I am wondering where they are made. DR? Asia? Thx.

RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine

Thanks--I am sure what you say is true about the lasts--I remember reading that elsewhere--but my Camden derby shoes (Rancourt 115) fit much larger than my Allen Edmonds 511 (Wilbert).

13 D in all three. Thanks

RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine

One more question for the thread, if I may. Could any of you comment on the fit/sizing of the Harrison boot or the 2592 last? FWIW I have a pair of Rancourt Camden derbys (115 last) that are too big (too long and voluminous), but still wearable. My best-fitting shoes are on the Allen Edmonds...

RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine

Anyone know the difference between the Harrison boot and the Baxter boot? Both claim to have tradition moccasin construction and they look pretty much the same (there seems to be an extra horizontal line of stitching on the Harrison).

Calling all LLBean Katahdin Iron Works Boots owners

Just found this thread and decided to share my LL Bean Katahdin boots (with Bean cords, coincidentally); got these 8 years ago. Used for everyday wear (nothing heavy duty) and they have served me well. Original laces broke a few years ago so replaced with Cobbler’s Choice flat laces.

Fall weather has come to PANJ, time to start breaking out the boots. Starting with Normandy in super soft kudu.

Waxed suede today. Becoming a big fan of this leather. Hope AE does more with it in future.

Boots Boots Boots - For Boot Guys Only

Is there any reason you are not considering the Higgins Mill from Allen Edmonds? It seems to check all your boxes. There is a shell version as well. Rancourt is doing a pre-sale that includes their Byron Boot. Maybe that is too casual for your purposes? What about a Wolverine 1000-mile?

The 2023 Allen Edmonds (AE) Appreciation Thread

Would add that I do not have an issue with my other Allen Edmonds boots (Normandy on double leather and Freeport on a lug sole).

The 2023 Allen Edmonds (AE) Appreciation Thread

I can't really answer your question, but I have come to hate my Higgins Mill, which also have the XL sole, for exactly the same reason (lack of support). I am debating between a resole (probably Dainite) or just selling them.

Yes please. It seems like forever since AE has had a short-wing derby (the Tate collection maybe?)

Maybe a longshot here, but anyone know how the Canyon Runner sneaker fits compare to other AE shoes (65, 201, or 1757 lasts)? I thought I saw a pair posted here not too long ago.

Last day of class today, so took the opportunity to wear, and post, these lovely Strands.
