Random Fashion Thoughts (Part 3: Style farmer strikes back) - our general discussion thread

As someone that used to work in tech, if I wanted to "belong", but also not look like complete sh!t nor draw any commentary, either positive or negative, I'd: - wear a well-fitted t-shirt without any text on it or large logos - wear whatever bottoms are in style at the time. Today it might be...

I should find some of the owners of these pictures, and tell them to file DMCA takedown notices. Just for sh!ts & giggles.

Why is that obvious? They or someone else owns the copyright. You don't have any legal right to publish it elsewhere.

While large turquoise is expensive, tiny cabochons that size run less than a dollar in bulk. I can't imagine they're saving anything by going fake, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're stabilized.

Right on. The Schindler in Empire were my first ever JMM. While I haven't worn them in awhile, I'm definitely gonna start again.

They're sort of both true? if your up close to a human, their frames take up a bigger angle, so they appear wider, especially since they're in front of your face. your brain sort of processes it and normalizes it so you don't have to think about it. Pictures can distort that. If you want to...

This is basically what's happening: https://www.diyphotography.net/gif-explains-changing-focal-length-impacts-portrait/ Maybe not quite the same since focal length is the same, but distance is changed, but same idea.

I can die happy now since I bought a pair of Schindlers 3.5 years ago before they were cool. I also contend that hexagons are an S-tier sunglasses shape and are generally slept on.

Discussions about the fashion industry thread

Yeah, I was a bit confused reading through why the community expects their members to work for free, and the article does a disservice to itself by not delving into it. My best guess is that it is basically a form of taxes imposed via labor, but if you’re going to start your article about a...

At what point in those 172 purchases, does a normal person look back and think to themselves: "hmm, maybe I should stop buying from this store because nothing is working for me". The mental gymnastics people will make to justify what they're doing. No, your dry-cleaned garment isn't perfect...

Peach is the like the red counterpart to the blue Arctic, which I'm really fond of, but also seems to not be a big seller. My problem with the pastel colors is that they seem trendy, and I'm afraid they'll just look dated in 5 years. If we were at the $500/600 price point of yesteryear, I'd be...
