HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Although the sleeves on the blue jacket are longer than the other one, they are hardly too long. On the other hand, the sleeves of the other jacket may be a little too short imo.

    Winter Overcoat

It feels more delicate than my other overcoats, but since I am in Tokyo where the temperature rarely goes lower than 0 (Celsius), it is perfect for most cities in Japan during the winter as well. I got it from the local retailer here in Japan, but Attolini coats are somewhat difficult to find...

    Winter Overcoat

I just picked this up. Brown heavy-weight knee-length herringbone made by Cesare Attolini. All the hand stitches are fascinating. The most stunning overcoat I possess.

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

I had this shirt done through Kamakura's MTM program and I think it was one of the best purchases I've ever made... ever. The fabric is David and John Anderson 200's 2-Ply and incredibly soft to the touch. I have shirts from Barba, Finamore, Tom Ford, T&A, etc.; nothing comes close to this...

Are these suit pants too short (no break)?

For me, I'd prefer it to be an inch longer.

Trousers' Rise and Double Breasted Suit

Dear all, I am commissioning a double breasted suit. Normally I'd have my trousers made high rise, but my tailor suggests that he makes the trousers mid-low rise instead. He reasons that because of the nature of how a double breasted jacket closes when buttoned, the rise of the trousers does...

Dear Tailor... Is it worth it to use 'hand-made' alteration service?

Thank you. I see what you meant, and yes, I understand that the price of bespoke does not always correlate to the degree of hand-made. I've heard that bespoke tailors, especially those bespoke houses from Italy, are not that meticulous.

Dear Tailor... Is it worth it to use 'hand-made' alteration service?

That's exactly the thing I was wondering about. I mean, does having a hand sew alteration improve any aspect of garment longevity or wearing comfortability? That is, do the hand-sewn seams on the side and back of the jacket make any difference?

Dear Tailor... Is it worth it to use 'hand-made' alteration service?

Any other alteration tailor recommendation in Tokyo that would do a good job? It is probably around $300 for regular alteration and $600 for hand-made alteration at Sarto. $300 I can stomach... but at $600... well... that's why I am asking if it's worth the extra.

Dear Tailor... Is it worth it to use 'hand-made' alteration service?

Dear all, and especially the tailor, Due to the body change, I have a few suits that need an alteration. Most of my suits are hand-made RTW (mostly Attolini) and some are bespoke (Ciardi). As I need to take in a little bit here and there at the waist and maybe the back (both jacket and...

I also think the length is right on.

    Thoughts on this pattern?

    The first one is Ciardi.
