THE 2024 ALLEN EDMONDS (AE) APPRECIATION THREAD

I wonder if AE will ever re-release the Patriot -- even in a limited edition. I hope so.

I think they call that sole Montello Tempest. I have it on a loafer too. It's very durable.

I believe the Rancourt 115 last is the same as the AE 511 last if that helps you. The 2592 is more generous than the AE 511 but I am not sure how this equates to the AE 1757.

Yes, I forgot about the mudguards. Never heard of a Baxter boot with a lining though. Interesting. Maybe that boot is a Leffot special make-up? It's in shell cordovan too! Beautiful.

The Baxter is unlined. The Harrison is lined with tan cowhide.

Your personal experience is perfectly valid, of course. And, I do not reject reasoned criticism at all. It's your generalizations where you come off sounding like a jilted newlywed. "Many" customers? How do you know? From two posts on this thread? Your speculation on the state of the...

Look up the fallacy of the hasty generalization. Also, it is sufficient to state "trainee" without adding your own prejudice to the mix. If you are not happy, file your credit card dispute. Easy peasy. No need to disparage a fine American company that offers a great product.

I have the same boot in Carolina Brown. They are very comfortable no question. If I had to nitpick, I find that these soles get discolored quite easily. Any kind of dirt gets picked up right away and shows up. So, I personally plan to go with a darker sole next time. I do love the boot though.

I am really not offended by your opinion in any way -- just curious. Your post suggested that there was something wrong with the shoes and I was merely interested in finding out what was wrong with them. It turns out nothing was wrong -- you just do not like them for whatever reason. Well...

Feel free to post about your subjective dislikes if you want. Makes no sense to do so on an enthusiast thread though. And, more importantly, you did not say you just disliked the shoes. In fact, you posted as if there was something wrong with the shoes -- that they were "bad shoes" and a...

The "pre-order" program is not at cost. It's at wholesale. Rancourt is doing fine at those prices because they are batch producing ... like they would for a retailer. Rancourt is building its direct to customer business rather than rely on the wholesale business. I suspect they will continue...

RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine

If it's CXL and you can get your foot into the shoe it will stretch. Wear thick socks, use shoe trees, apply some heat from a space heater or even a hair dryer before using and the leather will open up a lot. Takes several wears -- maybe a week or two depending on frequency. No pain no gain...
