Red Wing Belts - Amazing Value

Everyone knows how well-constructed Red Wing shoes are already. I went down to my local Red Wing store today and was blown away by the quality of their belts. I didnt even know they made belts until today. Anyway, they have them in a variety of widths, notably a beautiful thick 1.5" belt with brass snaps, and a brass buckle. Having seen the Sugarcane Garrison belts in person, owning two LGC belts and others from a bevy of brands, I'd have to say that not only does the quality of these belts blow the others out of the water, but the price is astronomically lower. I paid $32 for mine (full retail). It is made of the same oiled-looking leather as most of their boots (875 for instance), came in a couple different colors (untanned, dark brown, black) has a small RedWing stamp near the buckle, double-stitching, and is amazingly flexible and soft while simultaneously thick and tough as hell. Don't have a camera this weekend, but I'll be sure to post some pics later. I believe these can be found online as well. Check em' out!!

If you find some oneline reatailers, let me know! Very interested aswell.
I´ve found RW wallets and bags on rakuten that looks really great, but those very pretty pricey. A quality belt for the price you mentioned would be awsome.

But aren't the LGC belts only like $10-$15 more?

Yep. The guy at LGC is extremely nice, but he isn't enjoying the advantage of economies of scale to be able to offer a better product at a lower price, such as a global brand like RW can.

I have two LGC harness leather belts and they are pretty nice. The bridle leather (their top end belt) is simply a harness leather belt with additional oils/treatments worked into it to make it softer. With the double stitching, etc. these can get damn pricey. Still not a bad deal by any means. They are great quality and handmade.

Still, the RW is very noticeably thicker (probably 1.75 times the thickness of the LGC) and much softer than the LGC harness. Another amazing perk is that if you ever need some seam stitching redone, or you want the belt oiled/conditioned, the RW store will do it for free. Amazing customer service at RW.

This sounds cumbersome to me. Even the LGC belts can sometimes poke out awkwardly far at the buckle.

Would you mind posting photos of the RW belts? The pics on the site above aren't terribly helpful, and I'm sure many would like to have a closer look at the RW.

yeah, that seems thick to me as well. I have a LGC bridle belt and I wouldn't want it 1.75 times thicker. I like it as is, but a little thicker wouldn't bother me. Almost twice as thick would, however. I only wish LGC had a wider buckle selection.

I believe this is the belt he's talking about. Some guy on ebay is selling them for $23.99.

Doesn't look like anything too fantastic. Maybe it was another model?

Stopped by the RW store yesterday and checked out the belts. They didn't have the best selection compared to the catalog, but I found a few nice items. Everything seemed good quality but the one that struck my eye was the 1 5/8 harness belt for $35. If anyone wants pics let me know.
