This week Gentleman, should you choose to accept the challenge, you have a mission. Luciano Barbera is an accepted master of pattern combinations, shown in Flusser's 'Dressing the Man' mixing and matching with aplomb, appearing to show no effort in arriving at pleasingly subtle, non eye straining juxtapositions of stripes, spots, checks and motifes that would cause hours of trial and error for the mere mortal dressers of the rest of the world. You have four days to refine your four pattern combinations, read your Flusser, google image search for the masters combinations, follow Michael Alden's advice and throw out the computer spreadsheets and books and just use your eyes. Whatever works for you! There Are Rules! -all entrants must be in by MIDDAY on Saturday the 1st London, England -any fit from this week will be accepted, but only this week. -if you are wearing patterned odd trousers, you must wear a solid coat( this is a difficult look to pull off, you will probably be better off with an odd jacket ) -you will wear a pocket square -if you wear a multi-pattern patchwork tweed/madras sports-coat, you may wear solid tie or shirt Subtlety, coherence and nonchalance are the bywords of this challenge, this is NOT the zero 'F' challenge, You Will Give a Sh!t about how you look, You will show some effort! Bonus points for showing your work, just like at school. -TTO
Our brave contestants!
I have allowed this entry despite the use of patterned odd trousers & a patterned sportscoat, I'm not sure I should!
Four (five) pattern bingo.
Note that I made a game-time substitution of a brown suede belt for the suspenders, and a madder square for the puppy-tooth one shown here.
Cuatro disenios
early post.
I've used this one as you said it was your favourite of the three you have posted. and finally your host...
