The size and audacity of this haul are most impressive....where did you purchase from?

Half to slightly more than half are from Leffot (some stock he had and some MTO's). Most of the others through BST here on SF or posted deals on SF. Some members - Malfordoflondon and Viral have sold me pairs.

How are the Danite soles? Thank you for posting the links. All I've ever had were leather soles on my eg's. I would image the Danite will hold up forever. Do you notice a different in comfort compared to leather soles?

A lot of people don't like Dainite, but I like them. I don't live in an area where there is a ton of snow and my commute is usually well-paved within a day. I use my dainite soled shoes (4 pairs) on Nasty weather days.

Despite their look the Dainite will definitely not last forever. I think it is actually pretty comparable to single leather soles and based upon my observation they wear down at the same rate.

My experience with Dainite has been different in that mine have held up longer than single leather soles. Dainite is good for inclement weather.

Sizing question:

Alden Barrie/Grant = 10.5D
Carmina Forest/Rain/Simpson = 10UK
AE 5 = 11D
EG E82 = ?
EG E888 = ?

(My guesses would be E82 = UK10E, E888 = UK10.5E)

My foot is somewhat narrow with medium instep. Thanks!

I take same Alden size and AE size, E82 and 888 is 10.5UK but I have wider fit. 202 fits best and 82 is good as well, 888 isn't that good a fit for me though it would be for you most likely

Folks,

What about Edward Green last 808? I see that stock model Walcott is made on last 808? Anybody has Walcott or any other shoe on 808 last? Can you comment how it fits in respect to 888 last?

I know Tony Gaziano has written that 808 last did not fit well but I was wondering if anybody on forum has a first hand experience with 808 last?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
