I recently saw that Present London was carrying huberds shoe oil/shoe grease....pretty much the same as obenaufs. It'll darken the leather too if that's what your looking for and is a lot cheaper than shipping from america to the uk.

thanks, i'm not looking to darken the appearance, but my 1k's are black so i don't really think it will change the color right? i'm basically just looking for a product to waterproof / protect against the elements, that huberds shoe grease looks it will fit the bill

It seems that still Obenauf's has the most voices for it but it might be worthy to try this Huberd's.

I'd love to help out. But my camera is broken and believe or not, I don't have an iphone or similar.
Basically imagine how the colour changes if you wet the tan leather with a bit of water. That's how mine have changed. From yellowish to more red-brownish.

Fit help:

I wear a 9e in allen edmonds and most dress shoes. i wear a 9.5 clarks desert boots (with room...should be a 9). will a wolverine 8.5 eee be too small for me in the length? it's 41.5 cm i think.

I plan on using Sno-Seal on my 1K's today, but I have been wearing them for a few weeks now and some scrapes and scuffs have developed. Should I Sno Seal first and then polish and buff, or should I bring them to a good condition and Sno Seal after?

A word of warning to other Europeans: Buying Obenauf's LP directly from Obenauf and having it shipped here did not work out for me. The parcel got lost in the mail apparently. When I contacted Obenauf they offered to send a new can if I paid for shipping again, but I said no thanks as it didn't seem worth it. Better to find something they actually sell around here. I'll have a look at Huberd's, although I don't really want my brown boots darkened.

sounds like we're the same size. i wear a 9 in clarks and in chucks. i got a pair of Wolverines size 9 and they fit perfectly. i could probably fit an 8.5 but i feel like theyd be too tight.

Im planning on buying my first pair of leather boots and I have narrowed it to 3 Wolverine 1000 mile boot options

Burton
Montgomery

Need some advice :embar:

Which one is the most versatile?
I plan to use as an everyday alternative to my sneakers, loafers and dbs, on different terrains , changing weather too ( mostly on rainy conditions and not on snow )
also,any advice with respect of sizing?(im 8 on desert boots)

Well Burton looks kind of combat-y and hipsterish..
Austen looks really tall.
Montgomery has captoe and extra stitching, and looks a little cheap.

If you want an understated look that you can wear anywhere, I might vote for Montgomery if you like lower boots or Austen if you want taller. But why not get the classic 1000 mile?
