Bought a pair back in September and managed to get some decent combs going, but today the button popped. Debating throwing a no-sew dungaree button on, but should probably just grab a pair of EP's or something instead.
So...walking past local UO today, saw big sale signs. Unbranded selvedge for $30...woohoo!
Grabbed 2 pair each 33w and 32w (straight and taper), went to dressing room. Started with 33w taper, great fit, nice stiff feeling 14.5 oz denim, and a short back yoke -- the way I like it. But after bending over a few times the top block looked a little baggy so thought I could go with 32s. So as I unbutton the waist, the button plate pops off. A closer look reveals an incredibly thin pot metal shank holding button together.
Fail.
The frustrating thing is for, say, $5 more they could have used top quality hardware.
