Has anyone special ordered Daltons with the mini lug rubber soles through AE's stores? I'm contemplating such and curious if anyone has any experience with it. That way I can get the Poron insole as well :) I think it'll be more comfortable and durable with this configuration (the SA quoted me $90 extra for both which isn't terrible).

have you looked at the "North Platte" (which is on closeout)?

I went to the Port Washington, WI AE outlet store and came away with a couple bargains. A pair of 11.5 3E Burgundy Macneil Cordovan seconds for $299.00 and a pair of 12 D Daltons in Dark Chocolate for $179.00. The Daltons were marked down lower than even the seconds price since they are a special order that was returned for one reason or another.

Great scores and beautiful shoes! Enjoy

Thanks for the tip. I'll check with the Shoe Bank though it hasn't showed up my recent size stock list from Nate. Pity.

One of the Sales Associates at the Michigan Avenue store had a walnut Dalton with the mini lug sole added and I thought it was very nice looking...for winter. I think they looked great with heavier fabrics, but I question how good they would look with summer weight clothing.

So, if you're buying them as a fall/winter boot, I encourage you to get them with the sole :)

The "2 for $200" sale on closeouts is starting on the 1st, and the North Platte is included.

Allen Edmonds of course...call your local store.

Can you be more specific? Are you referring to a brick & mortar store ( which would subsequently also be available through the AE website as well)? Or do you mean an AE outlet sale, which would require me to call up an outlet or the shoe bank?

Lastly, do you happen to know which shoes will be available for this promotion?

Just went to the AE location in Reston, VA by me. Great staff, the guy there helped me think about getting a versatile color for almost any occasion, so I went ahead and picked up some Walnut McAllisters in 7D. He was also helpful in explaining shoe care techniques and products. Ended up getting shoe trees, a shoe horn, walnut polish, conditioner, a brush, a cloth, and dressing. Total came out to ~$310 after tax (salesguy discounted everything for me, which was a great gesture). Happy to say I'm quite satisfied with my purchase/experience and looking forward to a lifetime of use with these shoes!

Recently picked up a pair of Strawfuts on sale. Love the lightweight feel of the shoes.
